When Kung fu movies hit American shores in the 1960’s and 70s, they left a lasting impact on the martial arts scene in New York City. In turn, the city’s martial arts scene made its mark on American cinema, most notably with the release of the 1985 film The Last Dragon. In Part Two of Flatbush Fists, Louis Venosta, Taimak Guarriello, and Ron van Clief - the writer, star, and martial arts choreographer of the film - and World Karate Federation Hall of Famer Sifu Carl Albright, recount how this classic cult film captured this moment of cultural cross-pollination in 1980's New York.

Hollywood and some martial arts fans really didn't really appreciated Jim Kelly and Ron Van Clief. Since Jim Kelly passing do they appreciate him more now that he has left us.. In Enter the Dragon, the second best fighter was killed off.. Angela Mao and Jim Kelly characters was kicking butt before their poorly demise..

Growing up in 1970's Newark NJ, my mom couldn't afford to take to the movie a lot, but my next door friend's parents did have a lil more mula than the rest of the hood's parents and would take me along with their kids. Well after taking me to 2 or 3 , another kid , that was in the same financial situation i was, got taken instead of me and the film they went to see that weekend ??? .... ENTER THE DRAGON ☹, i had to hear about it when they came back. I wouldn't see it until way after i got grown 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ron Van Clief never won the All american championship. Not Henry's chos .And not in fighting. I don't think he ever met Bruce Lee.
