FLATHEAD EATS LURE IN FRONT OF UNDERWATER DRONE ROV -Watch unreal underwater & aerial footage of Flathead eating lures in clear shallow water. Complete guide on how to target and catch Flathead on the shallow flats.
From a bloke that’s spent the last four decades learning as much as I could about this species, and averaging 4days a week on the water, this video was simply the best bit of advice on vision of how these big girls like to hunt, and their preferred habitat. Your a wealth of knowledge Greg. Well done
@@gregswickedfishing mate, thank you.. someone whose happy to share such gold information like you do, That’s a credit to your years of learning the old school way, time on the water, donut trips to start, to learning certain areas where they like to hunt, tides, moon phases, , time of year, the way they think as a fish, and for you to take all that in, and then share it with others, so they too can target these awesome fish with the knowledge passed on by you, shows there’s proof in the old fishing adage of “ who shares wins”.. without giving away exact locations too.. Your a legend 💪
@@BillyDanielfishing Thanks mate and as you know learning the ins and out of species, locations, techniques etc takes up so much time but it's good to pass this on. My only worry with doing this is that people forget the basics and what it takes to replicate this for other species. The new era anglers get spoon feed a lot of info these days and lack the knowledge and steps to learn species habitat/techniques to become a better angler.
@@gregswickedfishing so very true Greg.. I know for your commercial buisness you rely on sounders etc for deep reef work, but for estuaries etc I hate the new world of livescope, mega 360 etc.. I’d rather test my knowledge learnt from decades than get excited from watching some fish hit my lure after dropping it on its face on livescope
As others pointed out: very very informative! Your videos don't really apply to me as I'm landbased but the level of good info on this one makes me subscribes for the next landbased one
You said the weather was magic Greg ... so was your video. Not seen any other like it. You've got that drone action down to the proverbial fine art. Loved all of it.
That's the best Flathead drone footage I've ever seen. I'd be super keen to see more of that. Watching them like that is as good as catching them. I'm guessing you're in the southern bay, I very much like how well you preserved the location 👍
Thanks Ty really appreciate the kind words mate and glad you enjoyed it. The footage came from about 15 different spots but I'm sure you can work out the general area with how clear the water was. It wasn't easy preserving the location and I not only did this for myself but also to avoid ruining it for others who fish the same areas as well.
@@gregswickedfishing perfectly said Greg.. discovering locations such as this, by putting in some research in your local areas, adds sweeter satisfaction when you put the pieces together that you’ve supplied in the video. There’s literally thousands of areas with exactly the same habitat around the country..
@@gregswickedfishing not many commercial/ ex commercial operators will share this kinda knowledge easily. They spend thousands of hours on the water learning what they know. And that’s what I personally find so awesome about this video.. it’s coming from the mouth of a bloke whose knows exactly what he’s talking about .. it’s literally helping the average fisho maximise their chances of a feed, or for some fun
Awesome video mate , first time viewer of your channel .... sensational footage especially the underwater drone that was crazy , and those aerial drone footage absolutely incredible .... thanks for sharing 👍
What a fabulous video and so informative. Instant subscription, notifications and liked. Flatty are my target species and you have just cleared up some long term questions.......thanks dude!
Great informative video Greg. Thanks for taking the time to bring this footage to us. Do you have any footage of the lure movement through the water? Have you had any stingray's take a liking to the lure?
Thanks mate I'm glad you enjoyed it. I do and maybe next vid I do on flathead I will put it in. Never had a stingray eat a plastic but I've accidentally hooked them in the flaps many times.
Greg like everyone else's words mine are the same. Thanks for sharing this incredible footage and the depth of your knowledge is incredible. Thank you mate
Hey Greg! Just came across your channel and this the 1st vid. Wow what an awesome bit of footage. I just ordered a blade n tails rod for fathers day. Hope their good as the reviews. Great job!
Thoroughly professional Greg. I could tell you like seeing them swim away. I'll happily take a few for the plate, but gee it's a good feeling watching them glide off. In the 70's a mate of my dad's was a keen trout fisherman (fly only) and he rarely kept a fish. As a kill everything lout I didn't understand. With age as they say. It is something I've managed to instil into my two lads fortunately. It's all about the fishing, catching is just a bonus. Subscribed and posted to some mates. Richard Friday
Hi Richard, Thank you for the kind words mate and yes I love watching them swim away. We eat lots of fish and I'm lucky I get to catch lots of tasty deep water reef fish that don't release well so I will let most things go if I don't need it or it's in areas that's over fished. Thanks for the support mate it's appreciated.
Great education it's a shame that more people and weekend fishermen/women don't hold the same respect as yourself l went down to crescent head today and have to say it's starting to p#ss me off people taking undersize fish just because it ended up on there hook how do we educate people with little or no respect for our great water ways and the creatures that live in them it saddens me to think it will only get worse before it gets better
Pretty cool. L & a Sub bruz.👍🏼 Only thing .. u sound like a Victorian or South Ozzy.. sorta gay but there's nothin wrong with that. jokes bruv good vid ✌🏽 QldER..🤙🏽
Mate this is fantastic footage. I have a Certate 3000 Lt, Commander Longbolt rod med/light 3-6kg 218 cms. I am using 12lb braid onto a 10 lb mono leader. Any thoughts on my setup and if it is suited to flathead? Subbed👌
Thanks mate I'm glad you enjoyed it. Mate your set up is fine and will do the job nicely for most plastics, vibes and surface lures. Basically the smaller the reel, lighter the line and rod rating the further you can cast and often get a better action from the smaller soft plastics. You just need to be smart when landing the bigger fish.
