Yes these are Mad Katz rods. Cheaper than that other brand. 3 years strong and I caught a 58lb blue last month easy.

Because it keeps the fish suspended up in the strike zone and out of the large rocks out there. The bait fish tend to swim down and hide under rocks and never get hit. Plus the float rattle attracts as well.
