Your videos are “professional grade.” Excellent job. Wise decision to use this kind of rack. Well worth the money and the huge amount of time saved and hassles avoided. Smart young lady, you really have a knack for these projects.
I just started watching your channel a few days ago so I’m playing catch up. There is one thing I’ve learned and that is you’re incredible. From your researching down to installation you’re just amazing, you don’t leave any stones untouched . I think of myself as mechanical and a problem solver but after watching you I better pick it up.
Wow ❤🎉 I’m so happy to see you bought a FVC rack. They actually are in Scappoose-Oregon where I grew up and live. !!! Just bought a 2017 and your vids are going to help me build out!!!
hi Lauren great videos, love seeing the build coming together, can't wait until you start the electrics etc will be interesting and knowing you will do a great vid explaining it all. good luck with it all bet you can't wait until its all finished
How did you attach the rack to the roof of the van? You only showed how to assemble the rack. I love your videos you do a great job of explaining each step, good job.
Thanks for the comment! I share how to connect the rack to the roof using the anchors provided at 4:22 to 6:50. Let me know if you have any questions after re-watching that section☺️
Awesome...but expensive (close to $2000)...and sold out at the moment, but there is a way to sign up for a back-in-stock notification via email. You make everything look easy and do-able. Thanks!!
Yes, but it is a fairly competitive price point in the market. It makes the install a breeze, holds up well and looks awesome - so it’s worth the money in my opinion. Fingers crossed you don’t have to wait too long for back orders - it’s a hot commodity😉
@@LaurenLawliss Yep, I get that. It sure looks nice up there. We bought some aluminum framing material to make one ourselves but after seeing yours...I don't know, it's pretty tempting just to order up one like it for our van. Such an easy install and I like the way it will hide the solar panels and the way it diverts air aerodynamically at the front. I'll have to really give it some thought. Thank you, Lauren.
nice job. looks easy enough. but, it is very expensive. I saw lots of home made cheap solutions with very good results. but they require cutting the metal pieces. so as usual, more work, and less $.
Good job. This is one those cases where having more looks like less. The rack concealed the roof fans nicely I don't know what you plan when you send work from your van, but you have a career making instructional video's. So, where did the snow come from? And don't say the sky
Hi Lauren I’m about to venture on my van build and I love what you have done. To get started I wanted to know what it will cost me. Do you have an approximate cost to do your van build?
Hey there! Thanks for following along. When it comes to a van build, I have seen people for it for as little as $10k and as much as $150k. It really depends on what you want in the van and the quality of the build.
Great question! When it came time to install my solar panels, I removed the crossbars needed to secure the solar panels. So the crossbars can be adjusted later🤩
Awesome! I was worried that I would have to get them in each correct place, but later find out I was off by an inch. Thank you. I’ll get it up this weekend so long as it isn’t pouring. Your videos are great for newbies. I watch Explorist videos, too, but yours are my first go to. I want to get all the wiring finished and solar panels up before it snows.
Thanks for the comment! The white roof anchors are installed on all Ram ProMasters by the manufacture. It’s standard. If you’re referring to the black anchor plates that I installed, those came with the roof rack🤩 Let me know if this doesn’t answer your question😁
Great question! The roof rack doesn’t add any noise in the van. This was a huge deal for me when looking at roof racks. The wind fairing in the front helps to keep the rack quiet when driving. I forget it is even there😁
If that is better for you financially then perfect! Personally, the cost was worth it for ease of install, to hide everything on the roof and safety. Also less planning and buying each individual part for a DIY🤩
