I'm a new player, that basically only plays Mercy As a movement tech player in other games, it's pretty obvious Mercy is the most mobile, by a VERY long shot. I watched this literally going "wut"

@@astupidlylongnamethatstoolong Even Mercy is supposed to spend more than 50% of her beam uptime helping getting kills by using Damage Boost. People undervalue Damage Boost big time. Sojourn's Railgun with Damage Boost is extremely dangerous, even with only a body shot.

These people probably have spent more time farming bad advice on tiktok and at school than actually learning (as in playing) the game.

@@OatmealTheCrazy Overwatch 2 system is really placing people in their correct ranks, I have those games were its flip a coin cause I get teammates who dgaf but I do my work (tank) and I see slack I.E. 3 targets in open less than half, but no one follows up or is focused else were. It happens more often, just like OW1, 2 will have its learning curve as well, Im mid gold pushing plat so Im seeing most of the players in this rank correctly placed or so new that the MMR system is still learning them

I call them healers too, ever since release. People mainly insist on calling them support to combat the "healers don't do damage" mentality.

I call them healers too. Not only because of all the reasons above, but because the category has the cross symbol, exactly like the Red Cross, which in emergencies or aid kits means aid, relief, madication, etc. So yeah, healers. Deal with it.

it's not a new thing, most people think supports aren't meant to do damage, mainly heal and use their utility on their teammates. i see it all the time and have been for the last 6 years, that's really why people don't play supports because they think that's what you are mainly doing or are supposed to do. and when they try to go healbot and lose they blame their team. this is why i play zen, it's merely to demonstrate a point to these people.

As a support main, I used to think of them as "Healers" because I played Supports that focused on keeping people alive through focus fire, like Mercy (I know her healing is low, but it was reliable for my low ranked self), and Moira (Pre healing nerf Moira could basically make people invincible). Now that I've started playing more Supports, and now that I'm basically maining Ana and having some success with her, I've started more and more to think of them as "Nearly pure UTILITY characters who's main function is to ENABLE their teammates". This enabling is done mostly by healing, sure, but you tell me sleep darting a Roadhog who just landed a hook on your Dragonblading Genji and thus saving his life isn't something a Support is supposed to do.

@Crustyprawn 157 knowing what picks you can safely get is like 99% of the skill in the game. For pretty much anything below diamond, straight up diving the back line when the enemy team has just started an engage is a free kill 95% of the time. I also still often keep up on heals just fine and the enemy is down 1/2 players

I didn't even tho the ranked bug thing was actually real and i ended up being really sad i hot high silver and just quit but i started seeing that everyone would just play 7 more to get their wins and get their old ranks so ig i gotta do that now to get my low af diamond 💀

Wouldn't change anything that much. Not like lobbies are filled with a bunch of coaches. Chances are if you're playing in gold then your teammates are too and just as bad whether they've been playing 3 weeks or 3 years.

Yesterday I had 4k more damage (and kills) than my DPS playing Soldier when I was Orisa, and he was flaming me for "not knowing how to tank" lol

@@BrofUJu one disclaimer: while you're probably right for soldier, if anything, for many of the DPS, raw damage is not a good judgement metric, their TTK is going to generally be lower, meaning people won't be around getting healed as much and so on. Looking at K/D is often more important

And i still had 30k damage blocked and highest dps (like 11k nothing crazy) but no i made him lose because rein use shield rein tank rein lmao I hate low level players thinking tanks only tank and healers only heal. Insanity.

Playing support is just pain

It doesn't matter if you heal a lot as support. You can literally press tab and see how much you're healing, but if someone dies, they will still blame you for not healing them. And if DPS are getting no kills and you're getting ANY kills, they get mad at you for not healing. I've been playing support with my friends who are low rank, and their aim sucks and cant kill pharah. I usually play ana, and many times I need to shoot pharah because they cant fuckin hit her, and then they get mad at me for not healing them. If I ignore pharah and just try to heal them? Pharah either kills me and they die anyway, or pharah kills them because they can't aim. Literally cannot win. Oh yeah, and if I kill pharah after one of them dies, they say I should've been healing them instead of playing DPS ana.

Support is about weighing what is best for the fight to be WON, not what will keep the fight going for the longest.

Yesterday, I had a game where the other team's moira had 9k damage, 28k healing. My team's moira had 9k damage, 8k healing.

its kinda funny because if you go on reddit theres a huge backlash against frustrated supports posting their frustrations. if you aren't in GM or whatever, there is no safety. you are going to get flamed for not healing enough, dealing too much damage, letting someone die who ran in alone, whatever whatever.

I’ve started coaching as well for my friend group. I’ve climbed to Diamond 3 on support and I’m on my way to masters since my win rate is still above 70% but I want to help my friends climb too. I’ve been doing vod reviews and coaching them live as they play. When they apply the skills I teach them (quickscoping, holding high ground, managing tempo with ultimates) and win games I just feel so elated.

“I have won multiple 7 games in row” doesn’t realize that the game doesn’t show when you lose and he’s literally 7-9

kinda, but when everyone is bad, ranks are relative to that level, so everyone who figures something that works better out first, climbs. With an already established game, these people are just setting up others for failure.
