Honestly, hearing you talk about your insecurities (many if which I share) and the tricks you use to help yourself feel more confident is so comforting to me. I also really relate to, and appreciate you mentioning, your confidence growing with your faith. One of the hardest things for me is wanting to be "pretty" without feeling bad about the way God made me. I cant imagine that either of those things are easy to share, so thank you!

My hair is rarely ever straight too. If I am going to add heat, I'm curling it!! Love the idea of adding accessories to a look especially the headbands. Hearing you talk about your insecurities but still embracing them gave me such a comforting feeling.

your hairstyles (and you in general) look gorgeous!! as someone with a heart shaped face i've always struggled with my lack of definition on jaw/my really big cheeks. the v shaped face/the slim jaw has always been something i found pretty, but like you, i've come to accept and like my face throughout the years!! love the content you showed on the video!!
Loved this. One of the best tricks I saw for giving hair volume at the roots was to line your curling iron or flat iron up with your part and do a tiny lift and curl just at the root section. It gives the perfect lift without having to tease your hair.
I used to have natural wavy hair. I used to be insecure of it but once I gotten confident with it and learned to love it my mom wanted to straighten my hair because she felt bad about me tying my hair all the time. I was curious but also worried. At the end it made my face look bigger and I definitely regret it but at the same time I don't want to waste the money spent for it 😭😭
Oh I never thought u had a square face. And I think u still look very pretty with a straight hair. Curly hair makes u look glam, wheras straight makes u look more natural and effortless
I have a square face and it got worse when I got hair rebonding treatment(cause my original hair was so frizzy) . I am really insecure about my face shape and this flat hair made me feel so ugly. I always went to uni with half up hairstyle and my sister always told me ' you always make this hairstyle and it's so boring'. I just don't have the courage to go with my striaght flat hair. I’m an asian with a square face too! I also have very fine hair. I can’t even curl my hair because it’s sooo stubborn. I also want to remind you that straight earrings play the same role with straight hair🤣 Maybe ring earring will be better🤨

I’m a square-faced Asian too (tho your face doesn’t look like a square to me!), and this was helpful, bc I always noticed the variety of cute hairstyles you’ve done across your videos, but I’m too lazy to do anything with my hair except leave it down or tie it up lol :’)
I think that the curled hair softens your more squared face and the headbands give a allongate look to it, so it looks more oval and less like a square. Not that one is better than the other, but I believe you prefer a more oval look and thats why those changes in style work for your. But its just a hipotesis anyway

hmm im not the best person for advice because i literally dont do anything else or use any hair products LOL my curls with the straighter last longer than with a curling wand! maybe use hair spray??

The weird thing about my face is that I have a wide, 5 finger round forehead. I have also an angular jawline. So I don't know my face shape. For round faces, the examples are always with Selena Gomez. And for square faces Olivia Wilde. My face is not rounded like Selena but its not square like Olivia. So I don't know ...

My main hair look is french braid it overnight and wear that wavy texture till my next wash. I'm also asian but my hair strands are really thick and slightly wavy so they hold whatever style I do well, thankfully. Maybe you can try out a different haircut and see if you can get more volume from your base hair. Like layers or more texturizing? I find that when hair is all the same length it looks more flat? I am extremely unqualified to make any meaningful suggestions though
yesss i am waiting for this lockdown to be over to get my hair cut done by a professional. my last hair cut was done by my bf LOL so havent gotten a proper hair cut in yearssss

sadly im not the best person to ask cus this is literally all i do LOL i dont use any extra products and my curls can last till day 2 but i do notice curling with. straightener last longer than a curling wand!

Perhaps it’s your make-up but you don’t look like you have a square face shape. Possibly rectangle or oblong. It must be the Asian beauty thing making you think your face doesn’t fit. Square faces are very attractive and something a lot of western models have, so any squareness you see in your face I really wouldn’t worry about it. I have a square face and I get a lot of compliments for it. I also try to highlight it with make-up.

I also have a square face shape and flat hair. Not a good combination. Having volume in your hair would help alooooot. And also bangs! Bangs with volume would also create the illusion of smaller face. I think the half updo would just make your face look bigger.
