ok Ta-kun the kun btw is an honorific.... you use it for kids.. the Ta is just a short appreviation of Naota.. That's pretty much how nicknames work in Japan..... So Ta-kun for Naota until he grew the fuck out of nicknames.. I never understood that line until I finally moved to Japan and lived and studied there for three years.
No, Mamimi calls him Ta-kun because that was her nickname for Naota's brother (named Tasuku). It just also happens to work with Naota's name, giving Mamimi an excuse to keep using it. Naota eventually becomes sick of being Mamimi's substitute for his brother, hence the line above.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's actually, "Takkun". With the "Tak" part being a shortened version of his borther's name. And the, "Kun" there as the honorific, as stated before. Also stated before, the nickname, "Takkun" reinforces the idea that Mamimi was using him as a substitute for his brother. And the name reflected that kinda cleverly!
“Don't call my brother! I'm the one whose here! Hey, look at me! I'm the one whose gonna save you! Canti!” “Now listen, my name is Naota. Don't EVER call me Ta-kun again!”
Damn, i swear i commented on this video like 12 years ago with my other account. Just stopped by to say i love this video and i think about it alot. Hope you are doing well, uploader
Totally fucking awsome! Can't believe that this was ur first! But and I know I'm probably going to get marked down for this but I have to put it out there. If I was to totally go nuts and raid my school with my psycho friends this would be the song that we would play on the intercom while shooting and going around like mad.
I'm going to create an FLCL comic where I break the fourth wall and go into the show through the manga book from the real world and become a character and then whole plot will be the hole in the sky that was my doing. I will be trying to marry mamimi and will have special powers.
FaytheTheEnigma Wow I didn't expect to get a response for this. I might just actually do it if I get a fanbase that would actually want to read it. I'll come out with one comic and see how it does.
