You were wrong for paying him without knowing exactly what you paid for. You were also wrong to expect him to give you a refund. He is not a retail store. You were wrong by saying “so that’s how you wanna do business” and fueling a confrontation. You should have been the better man, and asked if you may please have your money back. The right thing is for him to give you a refund. He did that. Remember, you could’ve handled the situation better.

You were in the wrong. He pointed out which coins were for $20. In fact he pointed them out twice with that trump cut out. Yet you try to sneak those classic coin in with the pile. That negotiation style of giving them money first to loosen them up,talking fast and keeping the poor guy talking while sneaking things your pile until the end while you scoop up everything only work for new sellers that guy wasn’t gonna let you take advantage of him. You were in the wrong. if you watched the video back he says just the one row of coins while you all were talking about the coins. so technically he sold what he said you wasnt watching when he showed what was for $20. So he got mad because you all made a deal on something and you backed out after you payed for them.

Refunds are iffy. He literally told you which ones are included originally, and then you paid him saying “I’ll take them”

He tells the Seller, "You really want me to overpay for something i dont want?" And yet buyers overpay for items he sells. 😆 🤣 😂

If you rewind and rewatch, the seller was very clear on what he was selling for the price stated. I don't believe he was in the wrong at all. He could have been more polite and returned the money without hesitation, OR he could not have returned the money at all. You suggested he shouldn't do business like that and he should of just been cool and gave the money back. I think you should of just been cool and followed thru with the purchase. After all, he's selling to profit and you're buying to profit.

I wouldn't have given you your money back that was wrong on your part not his he clearly said all of these coins

Okay so he said “except for these” when you were holding the ones u thought were included. Which he probably pointed with his head (I do this sometimes, point with my face) but u probably weren’t looking. Then he drew which ones he meant with his stick when u asked “all of these” but u drew with ur waving hand, the ones u wanted. So yeah this was hella confusing for both yall. But it’s always good to just keep it professional. He didn’t have to tell u u can’t afford it, as his last word. I’m just glad he gave u your money back. First, last, and always: Caveat Emptor. Write it down on your hand or inside your wallet if you have to. Flea market etiquette is once the seller has your money, that's the end of the deal. Unfortunately the swarms of lame flippers and lisping content creators have taken what was once a very, very, fun kind of pirate capitalism and made it into what we just saw. Lame. He had your money. You got coins. That's the end of the deal. If you were not happy, felt like you overpaid, don't shop his table next time. Tell your boys not to shop his table. That's a reasonable response. But remember: There's no crying in baseball and no refunds at a flea market.

More paying attention & less lollygagging with your buddy! This is a very serious business with people's livelihood on the line. That $20 was most likely going towards his son or daughters next meal. This is not a game. A deals a deal & you pay for what you agree to...that's that!

always do due diligence as a buyer. Just because us ebay sellers are used to returns doesnt mean its as common for others, especially in a flea market setting. know what you are buying before you hand over the cash. Not saying either party did anything wrong, but the onus is on the buyer.

As a reseller we’ve all had a time when we’ve had a misunderstanding during a deal. Making deals is exciting and it’s easy to get caught in the moment. I think you handled the situation well. I can see where the seller was frustrated, he thought he made it clear. But people see things in a different light, refunding was the right move. I think you handled it just fine.

The overthinking on the ticket purchase was ridiculous. There is money there, easy listers to help the algorithm, easy shippers to handle and probrably less than .50 each at the intial $100, will make money over time. The coin thing was just a disaster on both sides, he pointed to what was included correctly but what he said couldve been misinterpreted as a buyer to include others. Its always better to seperate clearly what you want and ask again before handing over the money. Its a flea market not an established store with policies for refunds. He was rude, but he did the right thing by giving money back, but if he didnt i would understand that as well. As the buyer should ultimately make it clear what he wants to know the pricing on.

You could have totally took the set then and said, that was my understanding with the deal. So I think it's totally understandable if you back out, as he said the original deal, even if it was you thought it was, was not correct. Good on you for posting it too. I think it's great to show that side of deals. That vintage ticket lot is fire. I got jealous of your score.

The point WAS that regardless who was at fault , it was definitely a misunderstanding and the seller was trying to just basically trying to BAMBOOZLE the buyer by saying "Oh well tough luck" .... If he immediately walked away with it and came back then thats a different story .... But he was right there stating immediately that he misunderstood .... $20 is too much to resell for that lot ... It was probably only worth under $30

We talked about tickets a bit in Phoenix last June. I would have grabbed those in a heartbeat for the $75 you paid. All you need is 1 big one hiding in there to hit the jackpot.

The coin guy was being a jerkface. He wasn't being very clear. The tickets are a great pickup. I went to a Dodgers game on May 25. 2008 with my wife, my brother, and his wife. We had a great time. I bought the tickets online and paid a surcharge to print them myself. Huge mistake. I wish I chose to pick up the standard tickets at will call. The starting pitcher for the Dodgers was a rookie making his major league debut. His name was Clayton Kershaw. I sure wish I had the real tickets from that game.

While I agree the seller should have just returned the money instead of arguing with you. I will admit I would be annoyed if someone bought something from me and then said oh ya know I’m actually not gonna do it.

Resellers suck sometimes. They fell they are the only ones entitled to make a profit. I say this because I sell at flea markets too and you an idea of what you want to make and they always try to hurt your profit margin. Well that’s just my opinion but I rather not do business with them.

Its a sly buyers tactic to want to include everything in the deal without seeming too interested in one specific item thus triggering the seller to perceive a higher value. If it wasnt true, you would have clearly stated so $20 for all the coins and lumped them in the pile. The seller should have also clearly stated with everything EXCEPT those.

I dont think anyone was necessarily wrong here. I think like what a lot of ppl have said was the communication was off. Even as a viewer, I couldnt understand what was apart of the lot. Idk coins but just seemed like it should been a lot more clear esp with how many items are on the table. So I wouldnt throw blame at Cary or the seller here. However when it came to the refund, I do think as a seller, you should be willing to offer a refund. Cary clearly was not trying to pull a fast one or anything and just didn't understand the deal. Its not like Cary took the coins home and opened them and etc. So a refund should be really easy. To kinda be stingy over $20 and make a customer unsatisfied is a poor business. Im happy he ultimately gave the refund.
