Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner FLEE tells the story of Amin Nawabi as he grapples with a painful secret he has kept hidden for 20 years, one that threatens to derail the life he has built for himself and his soon to be husband. Recounted mostly through animation to director Jonas Poher Rasmussen, he tells for the first time the story of his extraordinary journey as a child refugee from Afghanistan.

I saw this movie in the cinema last summer with a friend. I have never experienced an audience being so quit when the movie was over, we all just needed time to take it in. An absolute masterpiece!

Cant stop crying for a good 15 minutes after the last scene. I hope I could give Amin a hug. This is an important story, not just for refugees, but for all of us who are fleeing from something, hoping that sometime somewhere we can finally find home.

We need more animated documentaries. I hope it gets Oscars, it would be the first animated documentary to be nominated Best Documentary and probably to win it as well. It would also be the first non English documentary to win Best Documentary and to win Best Animated Feature. First animated movie to win Best Foreign Language Film. And first documentary to be nominated for Best Picture. Second non English film to win Best Picture and first animated movie to win Best Picture

To think that so many people will be facing similar troubles right now in Afghanistan because Of the troop pull out and Taliban overtaking the government. I hope there circumstances change for the better, the Afghan people have suffered enough already.

@@dawsonreece8680 Luca may have been good but probably not good enough to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, Raya and the Last Dragon was really good but it’s too early to guarantee that it will win. Plus there’s also the upcoming films Ron’s Gone Wrong from 20th Century Fox, I mean 20th Century Studios and Enchanto, which I see having a better chance at getting an Oscar for Best Original Song since the movie’s song will be written by the same guy who made Hamilton and In the Heights.

I remember seeing an animated documentary film about the tower shootings at the University of Texas at Austin that was released a few years ago. I saw it in Jan 2017. "Tower" is the name of the documentary about the Aug 1, 1966 shootings by sniper Charles Whitman at University of Texas.

I am really excited to watch this, I am learning Norwegian and while not exactly the same as Danish it still caught my attention and made me perk up in my seat at the theater when this trailer came on and I recognized the language. For many other reasons (being LGBT, loving art and animation, loving nonfiction/biographies, real people's life stories) I am beyond excited to see this

It's primarily Danish, he's telling the story from Copenhagen, Denmark. There's a couple other languages in the film as well, a bit of English, Dari (spoken in Afghanistan), Russian, and Swedish.

Bro, just stop complaining. This is a master piece. Not just story wise. But also art and animation wise. People dedicated their time and effort in making this movie.
