Fleetwood Mac isn’t just Stevie Nicks. There are two other principal singers who are also songwriters: Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie. All backed by one of the best rhythm sections in rock music: John McVie on brilliantly played bass and Mick Fleetwood on drums and percussion.

By the time Rumours was coming out, none of the band wanting anything to do with each other. They recorded a good portion of the album, as well as this song, in separate recording studios. In my opinion, The Chain is their love of music and the hard work they did to get them so far. It binds them together through all of their hardships and pain. Every member is credited for writing it. Wait till you see the live 1982 video. Stevie and Lindsey were glaring daggers at each other and probably hyped up on coke-

The album was recorded in the same studio. The Chain is pieces songs written by all the members. That is why it seems so disjointed.

Listen to Go Your Own Way, guaranteed that you have heard that. Other Fleetwood Mac songs that are not Stevie Nicks lead vocal, Everywhere, Big Love, Little Lies and Second Hand News.

Four members of this group were breaking personal relationships. Stevie Nicks was breaking up with Lindsay Buckingham. Christine McVie was breaking up with John McVie. This period of the group cannot be fully understood unless we know about these breakups because several songs were written about their breakups.

Stevie Nicks has the 3rd most songs as lead vocalist for Fleetwood Mac with 37. Lindsey Buckingham has the 2nd most lead vocals with 52. Christine McVie has the most lead vocals with 58. The entire Rumours album is amazing, but certainly check out Gold Dust Woman. Thank God for all the dysfunction In Fleetwood Mac that produced some of the greatest music of all time👍🏼😎

I saw them live once. It was great but what struck me the most was how Lindsey played. He was so intense I thought his fingers would be bleeding by the 4th song. I was so sad when they kicked him out. I loved Mike from Tom Petty but its not the same.

Nicks wrote the lyrics for this, though they were reworked to frame the most iconic phrases. Her lyrics were probably viewed as too self-involved about her loneliness and heartbreak. The remaining 4 members wrote the music. The chain is the group’s commitment to the music. It’s ironic that Buckingham steals the lead on another great song making it sound as if Nicks did the cheating as he flipped it on Go Your Own Way. Check out FM’s Silver Springs, Live video off The Dance album/concert. Video kind of lays out the story and inspired Daisy Jones & the Six. Grammy nominated.
