This is an AWESOME live 1979 era performance of the classic song ~ The Chain (one of my faves)!! This is from Fleetwood Mac's GREAT Tusk Documentary. I (fondly) remember first watching this (and the rest of this doc.) when I was 12 years old (back in early 1981) with my mother.
No claim or copyright infringement intended.
Enjoy!! ~ Jackie (:

@@vitorpardal3713 the original way the word 'pop' was used was to refer to music with melodies that stuck that belonged on radio. an umbrella term which *included* much of the rock of the day. i.e. jethro tull was even considered 'pop.' that term being usurped by the whitney houston and mj synthey crowd in the 80s meant that these inane comments would ensue in places like here, but the convo is just stupid. who cares how you *categorize* anymore. eff boxes, it's for absolute noodles still. original sense and usage of the word? this song is pop. it is rock that is under the umbrella term pop. sorry, but it's the truth.

Well for one he wrote for an ensemble band that didn't have a proper 'frontman', and also his guitar playing isn't center stage either. I'd put him up against Clapton though. I always thought Clapton was incredibly overrated. He had a few good years with Cream and Blind Faith and it all went downhill from there.

My mom loved The Beatles, my dad was a Big Bands fan and they both wanted all of us kids to listen to whatever we wanted to. I was born in 1960, we lived outside Detroit so I listened to Motown and rock stations. My teen years were filled with 60s & 70s music. My 20s were full of 80s. I have always loved metal, all kinds. There's shitty music in every generation, it just seems to have gotten worse over the past 20 years. Just my opinion, you don't have to like it or me.

Even though the volume is so low you can really hear how fitting and powerful the bassline (throughout the song) is.

The landmark song that really makes FleetWood Mack and puts them on the steady stream of 70’s music . I was probably 6 when this was popular, my dad however didn’t include this in our lives , he associated this music with the time frame of the US involvement in the Vietnam War ,which he was a part of, ( until lo and behold he got sick from the malaria meds and was eventually sent home ….. ) he returned to a very different US , it was turned upside down with the hippie movement. I started listening well into the 80’s … good sound . Still love it . “ Still hear you saying , never break the chain “ …

they gave it their all and pushed the song also and each other with live improv which is what the original fleetwood was doing with bob welch(after peter) lindsey had come into full blossom here and commands the songs perfectly i love watching stevie looking for cues and places to sing their excitement is intense the look on micks face says it all and stevie is like a goddess on one knee i love how lindsey gets in your face with the solo he really sells it to you the crowd oh my !! it sounds like we are at a beatles show -i give this highest marks possible and im in love with stevie all over again oh my..if i had to be stranded on deserted island fleetwood albums would have to be there ----no electricity you say well i will make gilligans island bicycle generator to play record player on shipwrecked boat

Theres something way more badass about these old school live recordings, back before they started completely isolating all the crowd noise out of the mix. Hearing the crowd mixed in just goes to show you how fucking legendary these guys were especially back in the day. Amazing

Last Summer, my sister, brother-in-law and niece were on a road trip. My sister was driving; they were listening to Fleetwood Mac and The Chain was just starting. No sooner had they sung, "🎶Listen to the wind blow🎶" when, perfectly on cue in beat with the music, my sister let out a loud fart. Their laughter outweighed the nausea. lol
