I was cabin crew in the Middle East for 5 years and left 10 years ago and many of these questions made me giggle as I would get asked the same things over and over. What you said about loneliness is true. Most people don’t realise how lovely the job can be as you’re constantly tired and don’t always have the energy to go out. It’s not a rockstar lifestyle at all. You’re constantly dealing with jet lag and being ill too. You also miss family events and it’s difficult to create relationships with people because of the lifestyle. I’m grateful for the opportunity as I travelled the world, but I’m happier now being in a “normal” lifestyle. Well done for being so honest Sophie!
I’m so glad you can relate to what I’m saying, makes me think I’m not the only one who deals with it ☺️ I’m so great full for the life I have but also very excited to see that is in store for the future 🤍 & thank you, I really do want my videos to come across as honest and real 🤍
@@SophieFayHart Oh I absolutely get it and many cabin crew go through the same emotions. It’s a bit different in the Gulf as you’re away from loved ones and the culture is so different. You’ll know when it’s time for a new chapter, but in the meantime enjoy the ride. The experience taught me a lot about the world and those lessons I still value ❤️
I am going to go as far as to say that people that think flight attendants are uneducated are very ignorant. My daughter was a flight attendant for quite sometime, she holds a degree and masters in psychology. Loving your vlogs as always Sophie 🙌 ❤️
Absolutely 💯 My daughter worked for a UK major airline. The training was so intense. I don't think people realise how much responsibility there is to your work. People's lives are in your hands whilst you are 40,000 feet in the air 💕
I can‘t tell you how much your videos mean to me. I work as a teacher - full time - and I was surprised how similar our lives are. I‘m surrounded by hundreds of people during my working hours , but at the weekends I just crash with exhaustion. And I basically don‘t talk to anyone the whole weekend. Your videos are so light hearted and inspiring. Thanks so much.❤
Hi Sophie, This was a great Video and your answers were honest and interesting. I'm sure it can be quite lonely at times especially when your tired and maybe trips out with other crew might not happen but being able to have a chat with your family I'm sure will make you feel better. Stay safe.
By the way Soph the one thing i can say is that you follow rules and have boundaries and dont overshare whilst you work. Prob why you lasted so long because you are a rule follower and comply.
Do you ever get problems with your ears and sinuses when you are «sick» and have a cold combined with flying? I had to quit my CC job because of pain everytime I worked😢
8:23 rather than saying you need to be more selfish (which sounds negative), maybe you could say that you need to become better at establishing boundaries (which is positive/empowering). ❤
Another fantastic video Sophie! Thank you. Please make more “assumptions” videos ‘coz people need to know what us as crew have to face on a regular basis. Fatigue & loneliness are a very real part of this job!!! Fly safe. ✈️
Great video..I can imagine how lonely it must be. But you always have your you tube family to keep you company ❤ If you are looking for cases I love my Rimowa ones...The more use they get they look even better..😁
My cousin Betty had to have a degree she had a masters, stewardess for Pan Am in the 1960's, found her husband on a flight. Talked one of our younger second cousin's into becoming a flight attendant. She has been dating the same Pilot for years now. So no one the dumb.
@@SophieFayHart Oh ok. Just a quick question. I am really wanting to be cabin crew for EK, so I am just getting some more Hospitality Experience. I am turning 21 in August this year - when would you recommend applying? Am I even able to apply and attend the open day before I turn 21? Thanks Sophie
Hi Sophie!❤️✨ I have a question about life as cabin crew. My boyfriend and I are planning to become flight attendants, but everyone says it would be very difficult. Do you think is impossible to have a relationship with another cabin crew?😅 (even if you live together)
Assumptions aye ! SFH , I was listening carefully & noticed u were asked about where u would live after EK . Before I make any assumptions myself I just want 2 be clear I fully respect ur privacy & ur NOT obliged 2 answer my question here goes . In a previous vlog u were asked about u plans 2 have ur own family I put it 2 u if u found the right partner presumably in Dubai and let's say they would like 2 live somewhere warmer like the canaries ( 🇪🇸 ) would u be willing 2 do it or would that too much 4 U ? Christy 🇮🇪/🇵🇹 👍
Its a good question which I get asked more than you think so I will give you my answer ☺️ Ive always planned on going back to the UK when im finished with my job/Dubai. if I was to meet someone from a different country or wanting to settle in a different country it would take a lot for me to do this, and I would have to be 100% this person was for me, as with having children I want them to be surrounded by family (like I was growing up)☺️
Hi there , When I mentioned that u might meet someone from Dubai I was referring to somebody who was working with Emirates and was from Northern europe . After enjoying their time in a sunny climate they might want to continue that life-style in a warmer place .
Hey Soph, how are you? Lovely listening to your answers to all those questions, great knowing you and knowing more about you. I got to say you almost never look sick except for the cold sores 😅😅. Thank you for sharing this. Have a blessed week ahead ❤
I loved this video as I learned so much about you wish I knew were i could of submitted questions 😔 I honestly don’t get the media bias on Dubai but the women seem to be treated better than ever i found the separate train sections for different genders the hardest to get my head round but with Dubai mall I actually saw a women get pulled for not covering up her shoulders so your so correct. It’s good to have learned about how you get paid my first time to Dubai was bit annoying looking back as one the passengers died on the plane coming back to Manchester so was delayed in which at the time I was going to the Abu Dhabi F1 so i missed part of which was frustrating by wasn’t anyones fault I honestly love watching your channel because with coming to Dubai again in September for my birthday I get to learn new things from you so thank you Your such a wonderful person Sophie never change 🤍🤍
