Props to Emirates for keeping the A380 in service till 2030, I've never flown on a quadjet (forget it, not even flown in a wide body!) so Emirates givin me hopes, thanks a bunch Sir Tim Clark

They really don't know when they are going to retire it. They are all leaseed so you'll start as we already have the fleet reduced at the lease terms are up.

@@johniii8147 It isn't going to be just 9 years. Emirates have invested in their own A380 servicing facility so they are able to maintain these planes at a rate much cheaper than the competition. They are unlikely to drop this fleet 9 years from now. Their model will easily be able to continue with these aircraft beyond the decade. Sure, not all of them will see out the decade, but you can bet you'll see them going for quite some time.

The A380 itself is a magnificent thing, and the pilots of them are some of the best I’ve ever seen. It’s really cool to have a window seat just to admire how the control surfaces work during takeoff/landing. I flied Beijing-Lisbon via Dubai and got to try out both A380 and B777 of emirates and A380 is a much better overall experience. The problems I’ve encountered are the wear issues for the electronics and seats. Once the touch screen doesn’t work properly, the cord for the remote doesn’t pull in and out easily and the seat was stuck at one position. So they might need to refurbish the plane more regularly. But overall experience is good and they do allow 30kg of free luggage and you can bring whatever alcohol you want to the plane. So a solid choice

Having flown the Emirates A380 6 times, maybe I`m a tad bias, but its phenomenal, even just for that massive wing flex and view, hearing the slats and flats extend and retract are a 21st century aviation Johann Strauss waltz to my ears. Always impressed by the food, the hard working crew and the ICE system, in fact, the entire experience. Not surprise that Emirates are still offering this memorable experience, reputation is maintained through hard work and a consistent delivery of a premium product and service, even in economy. I hope Simply Aviation cover the new Premium Economy when its launched soon, looks better then other airlines Business Class, nice job David.

Yep Emirates still has it, their front-line staff is second to none, many try to copy them, few even get close. For me EK and SQ are always good news on my travel plan, be it eco or business

In 2021 all long haul flights should have Premium Economy seats. Glad Emirates have seen the need for it.

I like to fly either the A380 or the B747 for the following reasons: *4 engines instead of 2 especially when flying for hours over water with no place to land in an emergency. *The most experienced pilots are assigned to A380s and B747s. *The quality of these aircraft due to how much they cost to build. *Their safety record as opposed to the smaller aircraft.

Well then 777-300ER is the plane your looking for. 2 extremely powerful engines to compensate for lack of two, usually the flag ship plane in most airline it belongs in meaning experienced pilots fly it, pretty expensive due to having pay load similar to 747 and even tho more than 800 have been built, it has literally a flawless record with no major issues nor any hull losses unlike 380 with severe wing cracks or the 747 (not -8) with multiple incidents.

@@ArshadKhan-ho7ye 777 300ER, the most popular variant has zero Hull losses tho. In fact the 2nd generation of 777 as a whole which includes 200LR/300ER/F hasn't crashed at all.

Emirates and Airbus A380 is a combination like no other. I have flown on Emirates’ A380 on one of the world’s longest route ( San Francisco - Dubai - Bombay ) in economy class multiple times and I have always without exception had very good experiences. Once theyr upgraded me to Business class on a Dubai Los Angeles flight, it was like heaven.

I am a massive fan of both the Airline and the A380 aircraft, it's definitely one of the best of the world's airlines. Having flown on the A380 with Emirates was a wonderful experience for me, the aircraft itself is truly amazing, comfortable, marvel piece of engineering. I'm definitely looking forward for my next flight which hopefully will be on both the B777-300ER and A380.

@@andyrob3259 depends on the time of departure lol. I had a full breakfast on EK last week. Nothing to do with dropping standards. On a medium haul flight like this, they will only serve one meal and a snack. The sequence of that may not suit all, but it’s standard across all routes, and has been this way for many years.

@@michaelx4810 that’s not true at all. That’s what BA did when they were cost cutting and since stopped. Emirates should have never been doing that at all. Qatar doesn’t either. 2 full meals are required but emirates is known to be cost cutting themselves so if it’s true then it could highlight this further

@@Horizon301. I have been platinum on Emirates for eight years now, and gold for many years before that. I have flown hundreds of sectors with them. I know what I am talking about. Anything under nine hours on emirates your get a meal and snack. Under five hours, a meal. The short haul regional stuff it varies, but usually just a snack. It’s been that way for a decade at least. The menus haven’t even changed for five years. The main criticism, frequent fliers have on EK is how repetitive it has become. I have no idea why BA is relevant to this discussion.

It was interesting seeing the departure board! There was a flight leaving 15 minutes after yours, EK241, going to my home town of Toronto, Canada! I used to live by the airport, and would watch that flight arriving. Glad to hear that Emirates did not disappoint you! Great vid as usual!

I was on the same flight in September 2021 and I have to say I'm pretty happy with Emirates. On my flight the cabin crew was outstanding, so friendly and attentive. Service was great as well, I really loved it. The seat on the A380 in economy is basically comfortable and well equipped but I hate the foldable table as it is soo wobbly.

I just watched a 5-hour US domestic Business Class flight on United, and your Economy catering on Emirates was far superior. Your IFE looked better, too. Apparently Emirates strives for a class act for everyone on the plane.

I agree with the Emirates economy meal - they really have nailed it down. Back in 2016, I even received a proper menu card on a mere 3hr flight between Dubai and Delhi, and also a welcome drink of lemon juice before take-off, on a packed 777-300 economy!

The lemon juice is only served on Indian sectors. They will restart them soon on those flights now that Covid is mostly done with. The menu card also went away with Covid. Idk if they plan to bring that back though

I love Vienna. Have flown once via Air France and Austrian Airlines and second via Emirates. 777 and 380.. Loved so much to fly to Wien via 380 and love Wien... Cheers...

Great review - thanks for sharing! Recently, I flew on their newest A380 in Economy (the one with the Premium Economy product) - and I was not a fan of the refreshed Economy product. The seat pocket was a lot smaller so storage was poorer, no more cup holders, the cool remote control was no longer there - felt like quite a downgrade. The seat that you flew on to Vienna I'd say is the peak of EK's Economy Class seats!

An airline is judged by how well it consistently does service in standard economy, and Emirates has to be one of the best, if not the best.

Great trip report. A meal and a snack for in just slightly more than 5 hours were more than enough. The price for Emirates flights is always more expensive than other airlines, but the service they serve really worth the money

A full meal on a 5 hour flight? On my Delta 7 hour transatlantic we got a pasta and a bread roll. That’s it. No salad, cheese or anything. And this was 2019

That just indicates the appalingly low standards of American carriers. As long as the majority of the American people continue to think that America is best and never to be criticised, those standards will remain low. I've flown in economy where standards are better than some American carriers Business Class. And just to show I'm not biased British Airways is just as bad. If you want to experience quality try Singapore or Qatar or Turkish, also, they're usually cheaper.

Love the "great big bird" - the best Economy I know (flying for 50 years). Will make a Christmas cruise starting in Dubai - and booked my flights to the ship and back to Europe extra for 1.000 Euro to be sure I will go by the A 380. ♥️👍♥️ So the holiday starts with the boarding!

Credit for you to for being reasonably gentle, however, my Top Tip is NOT to use the IFE touchscreen but use the controller. Why ? The touchscreen is directly behind the head of the passenger in front of you. On several occasions I have felt obliged to have a few words with heavy handed fellow passengers sitting behind me !

I've done 13 hours economy on a Singapore A380 with and that was by far the best economy flight I've had. Now doing 4 x 7 hours with Emirates A380 economy, be interesting to see how they compare.

As a person who has flown Emirates from Australia to Europe and back I will say Emirates killed it every flight! It may have taken 36 hours including stops but the entire experience was great! We flew Qantas from Canberra to Melbourne, 12 hour stop in Melbourne, then Melbourne to Dubai via Singapore (45 min stop) 5 hours in Dubai and then to Amsterdam and then basically the same on the way back except for the 12 hours in Melbourne it was about an hour

Previously 777ER on all 4 sectors but finally I get the A380 on both long sectors....... Whoopee, waited two years through covid to see my family!!

We've flown Emirates a economy a few times London to Brisbane and back. Still hoping to make it once more but we're in our mid 70s now, but if we do, it will be Emirates again. If only we could afford to go business class and lay down to sleep properly. It would be even better...wishful thinking 😊

Emirates is not an “expensive” airline flying in Economy. Flight prices are dependant on when you book, which grade of fare is available at the time of booking, how much competition is on the route etc. This idea that there are “luxury” airlines that charge more based on their brand is not true in most cases. Yes, Emirates charges more than say, China Eastern, but they are fairly standard when compared to most other full service carriers

Emirates gives you the best view of Dubai like literately XD It gave u a view of the 7-star hotel and PALM JUMEIRAH This is why I love Emirates and support them🙂

Just flew the Airbus A380 , Seats not bad , comfortable , but only problem is the food , the meal is not as great as the Qatar airways meal , expected better , other than that , ICE is amazing and so is service , they need to add more snacks and better meal options as well as drinks
