Hi BirdTricks you are amazing I love how your training techniques you can apply to other animals too I really like noticing the accidental reinforcements and I used power pause with my Guinea pigs (they’re sooo much more friendly because of it) thanks BirdTricks you are the one and only best, absolute legend’s
Can you train birds to clean up after themselves? Like, use a broom and dustpan. Rags to wipe up poop etc? Okay, seems like that be hard to train. What about pooping in a litterbox?
For cockatiels should they just be on seasonal feeding and birdtricks pellets ? I have trouble keeping mine at weight without supplementing with training reward seeds of raw pumpkin seeds or sunflower. I’ve been staying away from millet. If you are looking for some ideas for vids that feature Clyde, could you consider something regarding diet needs for cockatiels that may be different from a larger bird?
For Cockatiels we recommend 45% SFS, 45% BirdTricks pellets, and 10% our homemade Cockatiel Seed Mix (see video link) . The seed mix can be offered through foraging or training. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_S3CzayElHg.html
My mother had various parrots who all lived to at least 30 years. They were fed on standard pet store food plus a tiny variety of whatever she had for her meals . are your own foods nutritionally balanced and similar to a parrots wild diet .i don't have birds but other animals and find the available commercial food sadly lacking
The thing is, for most larger parrots, 30 is relatively young. Yes most "pet shop" foods, for most species, are junk. There are two reasons for that. The first is junk is usually cheap, and secondly, junk is palatable, so the animal eat the food, which lets the manufacturers tell people that their food is "good" As we know tho, just cos something is palatable doesn't mean healthy. As to the suitability of the BirdTricks diet, I don't know. I'm not in the states and I don't, at present, have birds. Look it up, do some research. From what I've seen of Dave and Jamie's birds, they're healthy and fit so there's that.
