I grew up on Secretariat..... I think it is too soon to compare him to the best horse ever. Sure is exciting though. We knew Big Red was going places. Hundreds of people used to watch his morning routines. Everyone wanted a piece of that magic ✨✨✨

Secretariat’s secret weapon was the 22 pound heart pumping all that oxygen into his lungs. Normal heart is 8 pounds. As the saying goes “Close but no cigar”

A horse that has potential for sure, but nowhere near the caliber of Secretariat. Secretariat ran over 20 lengths on Sham who was arguably another one of the greatest race horses to ever live.

My first Belmont was American Pharoah's Triple Crown win. My first Breeders' Cup was Flightline's romp. I can't wait to see this upcoming May who will win at my first Derby attendance.

Until he becomes horse of the year as a two AND three year old, has raced more than six races, set records at the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and set a record at the Belmont winning by thirty-one lengths with a record that still stands today. The Belmont was with blistering speed that even most sprinters would have been able to match. Everyone was stunned. It looked like the other horses were racing on another track. He won other races setting records with them despite having a fever and diarrhea we can have a little talk but you will never convince me. I don’t know if we will ever see a horse like him again.

@@cmeflywvano horse will ever break Secretariat's records in those three races. The horses bred today cannot withstand the long campaign that Secretariat had during those two years, nor are they fast enough.

Until his times match or beat Secretariat... I would not compare Flightline to Secretariat. I would be more impressed that Swiss Skydiver(a filly) beat Authentic in the Preakness and now has the fastest time in the Preakness after Secretariat. And Authentic also had a very fast time. 😊 It is all relative and who happens to be competing, track conditions, etc.

Life is good did everything he could to slow flightline down... Fractions, making Flightline run 3-4 wide the whole race, riding him out on the final turn.... And then Flavian eased him. Otherwise the time would have been as amazing 🤩 as the result

Ok just one more time. In order to compare any horse to Secretariat, first you look at the time they made. Although Flighline won his races by big margin, he never broke and or equal any track record.

Flightline in my opinion is a great horse... but he will never go down as one of the greats 6 starts is just not enough races unfortunately. If you take wayne Gretzky's 3 best years and that's all he played you'd call him great but he definitely wouldn't be considered the greatest ever... just my two cents.
