I know that you were wondering pretty much before first takeoff but at the end it was perfect all over again and dont you just love the feeling when you do perfect redemption and maiden in one flight. Great job my friend from both of you. Thanks for all great videos and for all inspiration during my days in this beautiful hobby. Big salute to you and Captain Mike, Pilot Robert Slovenia.
Truth gun pointed at you: Did you have the ailerons reversed on the maiden crash? I liked all your repair techniques. I picked up two crashes from a guy at our field, and they are both back in the air, weathered, etc. Great job!
The sound of the prop still gets me. Can't wait till I hear one in person. Practicing on my Eflite until I own one. congrats on getting her back to 99.9%
Say what you want about a foam aircraft but if you crashed a balsa aircraft like that you would need a dustpan and a garbage bag to get it home. Great video thanks for posting.
Even before you said you had the ailerons reversed. I knew what you had done. Pilot Ryan it happens to the best of us. As an IP with the AMA, Before all the fancy Trans. One of my fellow Instructors and I would go out and purposely reverse the ailerons. on a buddy box setup, and turn it over to the other Instructor to see how and what it was like and learn how to fly a plane with the ailerons reversed. Practicing this condition has saved me many planes. After practicing this you will know what is going on before you roll it in. I did this on one of my Q 500 Pylon racer's, flew it around at 150 mph until I was comfortable with the ailerons being reversed cut the power to the Nelson 40 and landed it with no problem other than a huge Adrenal rush saving a 1,000.00 racer another was a small 40 size 3D plane that I hand launched with the ailerons reversed flew around some to get use to it then landed it. The guys at the field had to see if I was telling the truth when I said OH NO the ailerons are reversed then landed it just as if everything was correct. I watched Chip Hide do a demo doing this same thing he would even reverse the elev. and rudder and fly with no problem . We have all done this makes you stop and think I need to do a pre flight check every time I fly any plane. Nice redo and redemption flight You have restored my faith in your flying skills LOL!!!!
I am ordering one tomorrow, I will let Motion know you sent me, I love all the time you spend promoting Our hobby. Love to watch you fly all the different types of birds, Keep up the great work you and your crew do Sir
Congrats on the repair and re- maiden. But, Corsairs are not pitchnever encountered that problemy. If it is pitchy? Its usually a CG, thing. Or to sensitive, I.e. to much elevator throw. Having built an old Gemco Corsair, and have flown the Royal Corsair. I have never encountered that problem. But, I do agree. They love to land and run on the mains.
Redeemed Sir. 😏 truth be told, I just did the similar trick but with a Admiral gyro I was trying to set up. Flew my Sbach off the runway about 50ft, started to porpoise like crazy and "SMASH", in I went. Please pass the foam tac
Bro dont down play it brother, that shit was epic. Absolutely GD epic. Bro i see the ying and the yang. Always see good in bad, and Visa versa. All of needed to see you make a mistake. You did more for the community than you know by crashing. Helped me realize that even the best pilots in the business have bad days. Not to mention you could had totally covered up the fact that you ever crashed in the first place. That told me a lot about pilot Ryan. Actions speak louder than words brother. We all respect your ass even more now. I expected nothing less. Veterans are just a different type of breed. Your crash helped me feel more confident in myself. Thankyou. You pain was my lesson in accepting humility. Thankyou Ryan. Much respect for you big dawg.
I crashed my first flight with this plane on takeoff. Tried to fly it like my lighter plane and torque rolled into the ground shortly after the wheels left the ground. My second maiden went something like this! It was a great feeling. Still flying her today
Congrats on your redemption flight! I've been watching for this a didn't see it until now so I'm a few weeks behind. I found it on TiredIron site. Great job!
I’m loving that Corsair and that color, good job on the repair and even better job on the re-maiden. 👍, time for me to upgrade the old Eflite Corsair!!
Excellent F4U maiden Ryan! I'm sure it was nice to get the that "Stickum Monkey" off you shirt/back not pants! Hope to maiden mine soon as well and hope it goes as well as this one did! Hopefully chat tomorrow at the Pilot's Lounge for cockpit cocktails! Was that Mike on the camera? I didn't hear him and looked a little different. Thumbs up to both! Best regards!
I saw the crash when you did it and it's the same thing i did with my 980mm reversed aileron and tail heavy broke my heart but i fixed it and re-maiden was very satisfying.
You have one OMG nice C130 videos. Love all the effort you went through for scale and it showed. Here is mine. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mIp6qPnDMFM.html Also, make sure you don't fly with V1 props. Ask me if you don't know why.
