Don’t think I’ve ever loved a character as much as Flint. He has as many layers as an onion, and each one is more fascinating than the last. And as for Toby’s performance, well...........
That was kind of the thing. She hated the "monster" he became, that he felt he had to be. But she fully took advantage of that monster him when she wanted to. He was her monster when she wanted him to be. Flint was in so much rage and pain. She was ultimately the one in control.
Didn't think it was possible to increase my feelings about silverflint or my pain over Flint's character and his relationship with Miranda and Thomas. You proved me wrong. Amazing job.
Flint is in agony when he looks at Miranda's body in the plain wooden box. His face twitches and contorts. His grief is palpable. Were there justice in the world , Toby Stephens would have a room full of acting award statues for his portrayal of McGraw/Flint in this series. What the acting profession (shame on it) failed to do, the viewing public stepped in to do. I have read a great deal about the show and have never - not once - read ANY criticism of Toby's magnificent portrayal of McGraw/Flint. We love you, Toby.
It is ironic: her relationship with James McGraw started as a mere fling ... a sexual attraction to a man she barely knew. And yet, that relationship became the most important one in her life, probably even more so than her relationship with Thomas.
this is beautiful, i just love this show, the acting, the writing, the music everything its perfect... 4 seasons its not enough ; i really hope a new "treasure island" show with silver and the rest of the crew
it is a lovely show, glad they seem to be ending things on their own terms though! I'd rather have 4 well made seasons than 8 seasons where the quality drops :)
I can't help to think the relationship between Flint and Silver could have been so much more, if this or that had not played out so very tragically. This is a superior video insight. Thank you.
