It took me a while to visualize what you were saying. The rings smooth rounded inner surface offers less resistance at difficult angles than just an alpine butterfly or even a quickie. Plus the short sling it is attached to puts it in an even better position for redirects.
How do you retrieve the soft 8? I know you pull the cord but how are you capturing the 8 from falling off the end? Retrieval ball from a cambium saver?
