Man, you have some great tricks! I have a Clam Kenai and didn’t even take it out last year but after watching your vid I want to trick it and take it! Been using our Eskimo hub shelter more and find we have more space, but less mobile. We did a fun setup video on -7 degree day! Can’t wait to get back out ice fishing this year.

Awsome coustom tutorial🤘, we both have poles mount and otter rod holder in same spot in our clam setup💥💥💥 & smitty sled makes big difference walking out there, especially hauling on snow.

I have been researching Smitty Sleds on You Tube. They would make it easier to drag in deeper snow. I want to build one this summer. I had downhill skies on my other home built 100lb ice shack and it pulled pretty easy!

Nice video, Caleb. I have a very similar setup in my Clam X100, with some exceptions. I will be borrowing a few of yours. For the ice scoop, do the hooks have an actual name? Also, where did you get the fan, that looks like a good'un!
@calebplumleeoutdoors
@calebplumleeoutdoors 2 года назад
Thanks! The hooks are Command Strip part number: DC031SS-8NA. I grabbed them from Walmart. I didn't use the command strip adhesive, but just pop riveted them on. The fan is an Amacool 10000mah fan off Amazon.

Such a thoughtful set up. Definitely some takeaways for me. 1 question: I’m struggling with the idea of leaving the heater in the back like that as I’m worried when I fold my tent down it’ll hit the grill and burn my canvas. Any worries about that?
@calebplumleeoutdoors
@calebplumleeoutdoors 2 года назад
I really haven't experienced any issues with it at all. I make sure I shut the heater off as the first thing I do before I move, and in the few moments it takes to stash my rods and pull in my fishfinder, it's cool enough not to hurt the shack it seems. I was worried about it too at first, but so far I have had no signs of the heater affecting the fabric. Your mileage may vary though!

Awesome mods. I have the same shack. Do your poles ever get disconnected when setting up? On mine it does that sometimes. Not a huge deal but was thinking of maybe drilling out the hole the tab goes into a little bigger.
@calebplumleeoutdoors
@calebplumleeoutdoors Год назад
Constantly! I've been meaning to address that, but have just been dealing with it so far. Should be easy enough to solve I think??
@rtackle71
@rtackle71 Год назад
@@calebplumleeoutdoors yea I think making the hole a little bigger could help. I really like the shack but the poles coming undone sometimes is really annoying. And on mine its not just the same one each time. It’s kind of random.

Sorry I don't have a part numebr for the brackets. I did find them at ACE hardware though... The Aluminum rod is 1/4" from ACE as well

Does the seat fold flat towards the back of the tent ? Does the seat come out at all ?
@calebplumleeoutdoors
@calebplumleeoutdoors 2 года назад
This model doesn't have a flip up or over seat. It just slides side to side. The seat can be taken completely off the rails quickly without tools though.

Nice setup. Does that little buddy heater make it warm enough not wear a jacket inside the shack?
@calebplumleeoutdoors
@calebplumleeoutdoors Год назад
It does stay warm... sometimes too warm. I usually take my jacket off and have just a long sleeve shirt on after about 5 mins. On really super cold days, I have an under shirt and a long sleeve and it's comfy.

@calebplumleeoutdoors

I don't usually catch monsters that big! I drill 2 overlapping holes with the 6" when I go for lakers and can get a 20lb fish through. I sure wish I had to worry about ones bigger than that!!

I have been using a 10" Jiffy for about 40 years. I'm on my third one. Back in the days of huge crappies in Upper Red Lake, we had to do overlapping holes to get them up. I have had many larger than a 5 gallon bucket lid. Good times. 👍

I like the extra convenience and comfort. I've added a second seat system to mine now and my 5'2" girlfriend likes to pull it to stay warm, so it's not too bad.
