I just found your channel a few days ago, just wanted to let you know you've put many smiles on my face and given me more than one good laugh. The positivity and fun is much appreciated. Great work you guys!
I'm a new participant in this hobby, and just got home from my first day of consistent good flights with my wing, so I'm already is a great mood, but this video popped up for me, and it made me smile a lot. Its really nice to see you guys enjoying yourselves and sharing it with everyone. Thumbs up!
Everyone keeps referring to the Flitetest "community". But to me it's feeling more like a family... Great work on the super sized Flyer and the quad landings.
Its was so great to see my father light up when he got to meet both of you two and all the volunteers, I'm now a subscriber. We plan to make the next event for sure. (Sebring)
That's awesome guys!!! I have not held a stick in over 10 years. It's cool to see the small quad rotors. We didn't have them then. Like big bugs. I used to fly pattern and sport. My favorite ARF was the Great Planes Extra 230. I started pattern with a styrofoam with plastic covered P-51. It was a booger to fly. But cheap. Then that plane was like $65 bucks! Flew like an arrow. A rocket arrow. I do miss the hobby. Now I am a firearms collector. I don't know which would be the most expensive now. Thanks for the video. Looked like a blast. Makes me miss those days out on the field.
what a great event! Wish i could have been there. Poor David, your favorite swede, he was probably missing this big time! Hopefully he'll get back soon. Congratulations once again on a wonderful family event. So many parents there with their children and spouses. That was my favorite part. Keep up the good work.
Do I fly any RC stuff.... Nope !! Do I enjoy this channel.... YES !!! Always fun to watch you guys having fun.... It would be really cool to see David return at some stage :) Cheers to you all, and Thanks..
Awesome Challenge! I think just needed more Velcro. Maybe next year, a Kraken or 200% Versa with top covered with Industrial Velcro - see how many Minis will stick to it!
I think that would work better if the nose plate was replaced with struts to hold the motor and the fuselage was then used as a duct. It would also give it some thrust vectoring at the back as a bonus.
That was one of my favorite shows yet. Has anyone tried mounting a 3rd person camera style boom off the back of a quad. You would see what you're doing better that way if you could see your whole vehicle. (: I'm gonna try it with my H frame knuckle I'm building.
Most of the propeller was useless since that big square box was right behind it. I bet it would have more thrust if they moved it some where else or upgraded the motor/prop. Should make a bigger one with multiple wings and see if you can land small planes on a flying run way. That would be cool!
Maybe an FPV Kraken would do better? You'll be able to fly dead straight for much longer and the mini quad can slowly move up to it without having to maneuver around the oversized tail. Also, how about making a helicarrier and landing on it?
Oh I see now its the xt60 I am amazed that I was Abel to talk to you and I want to know if you could do a revew on the bixler 3 and the blackout mini quad. All your videos have a lot of. Entertainment but sometimes we don't get all the info. Like different power system setup, cg, battery, also what about a full on comparison from different receivers and transmitters in terms of quality, range, relyibility (loss of signal), what i and what I think many other people want is just small videos packed with info. That extra info would defiantly help me find what I want. Flite test you do a great job, sadly I could not come to flite test, because firstly, I am 13, and secondly I live in New Zealand. But u would love to be there. The position I am in is low cost and in desperate need of a second plane or possibly a quad or tri copter. Thnx Alex!!
Did this flight take place on Sunday? I'm assuming the build was Saturday night and the maiden was just before midnight on Saturday night? We were camping down by the heli line and there was a night vapor combat going on and I saw something very colorful flying down at the other end of the airstrip.

We we building well past midnight on Saturday and its maiden flight was around 130 in the morning. Then most of the volunteer crew were on deck for 8am the following morning ;)
Review the: SYMA X5C!! It is not expensive at all. And the quality of the video camera build in is also not bad for the price. If you guys can review this at some point i will be very happy :)
very nice guys cant wait to meet in person we have a small group of guys here in northern ontario in the muskokas that love and fly and build your products WE R BUILDING A FLITEST WING ARMY lol
xDanoss318x No :) To be honest I haven't even started cutting yet. But I plan to have it by Joe Nall if I can get the electronics soon enough. It's gonna be a beast to build. I think I'll call it The Leviathan.
I was hoping that was going to stay on I was curious to see it land... Witch type of Velcro (hook & loop) was used regular or the industrial?? Should try it with a big sticky pad that way you can try numerous times..one great video after another thanks
It was regular velcro that had taken a couple of showers due to storm winds and heavy rain. Our camp took a hard hit Saturday night! I don't think either Alex or Dale hit the velcro.
