The legend we all loved when younger... The legend I still love, even if so many time has past since his death... This universe was never the same after the moment we lost him... FLLFFL, the Alfa, thanks for everything, you've composed the golden age of RHG.
It's important to see a hero like FLLFFL be vulnerable. He is only human, like all of us, and he has his flaws. Just seeing this complexity in Alfa is what inspires me to be a good character animator. Also, Phil, you realize you have to always animate him one-armed now, right?
Left4Dead - Bill: "I'm getting too old for this shit...." RHG - Alfa (Fllffl): "I'm getting too old for this shit...." just the same but with different characters, models, theme, date, etc...
I find it quite amusing that following the chronological order of battles the one predecessing this one was against Thunder and the music used on that video was called The Pulse. A rather funny coincidence that his next opponent would be called Pulse.
This is why I love Alfa. Every time you see him fight it's never his full potential and he can always kill his opponents with one move but just decides to toy with them. Like at 0:42, he could have just stabbed Pulse right there in the air while he couldn't move
Thing is, my character is someone who has been in my head since I was a child, and despite this, he has still changed considerably. His powers used to be focused on fire rather than ice. The only reason I explained him in such detail was to get across exactly what he could do with these abilities, since I've noticed most ice- and water-oriented characters in fiction tend to be VERY under-powered compared to what they could do with maximum control of their element.
The unique things about Phillip, is he never fails to make his opponent look any less than a bad ass in his animations. Great animator, great role model.
I can imagine a real life version of him walking down the streets with wrinkles in his face and a "don't talk to me" look. *shaking fist* "YOU KIDS TODAY AND YOUR FIRE NUN-CHUCKS AND YO-YOS. BACK WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE ALL I HAD WAS A SWORD WITH A JET ON THE BOTTOM!"
Am I the only one who thought this felt a bit like a western? I like how slow-paced it is compared to some fights. Makes everything seem more dramatic and in its own way, really freaking awesome.
With this power, he can conjure walls of ice with the moisture all around him almost instantly, turn fog into a series of needles or make the fog dangerously cold around his foe, and if he's feeling particularly deadly, he can use something nobody else has even thought of: freezing the foe itself. Most freeze a person in place. He can, but he has to freeze the air around them.
Terkoiz has huge fanbase, which means that if he finishes the animation and they still make the pool for Resh vs Terkoiz / Terkoiz vs Resh rhg fight, it's most likely for Terkoiz to win.
Because he's more than just a mere "old man". He's highly skilled with light swords and designed/mastered his very own Jet Sword, a weapon so brutality powerful that he himself wanted to get rid of it. He's also a very clever tactician, as proven by this battle when he used the dirt to startle pulse for moments notice and knock him off his stance. Also proven when he got tangled the tendrils of Tarantula(or TNTL for short) and used his fire to blast them all away. This point also proves he's more durable than the average human being due to the slight fire resistance. His only true weakness is that he's an elderly person and superhuman at best. All in all, FL L F FL is a force to be reckoned with.
He's also quite the acrobat, since he is quite strong but also very thin, making him lightweight enough to do handsprings and such easily. On top of that, he is a bit of a genius physicist albeit somewhat subconsciously, which is made more formidable by his favorite and most iconic ability. His skills with weaponry were all self-taught: this only makes him even more formidable with his complete control over water in any form, even ice.
Plus, his most powerful abilities he prefers not to use, because if he KNOWS he can beat someone easily, then he tries to at least give them a chance and see how far he needs to go before he needs to resort to his best. In fact, he only uses the deadliest of them when he is really, REALLY mad (did I already say this?), and doing that is very hard to do without threatening his own life, those of his friends, or those of many, MANY people.
Rock Hard Gladiators(RHG) history-pages 2 joined the RHG and created his gladiator, "FLLFFL", he went on as an undefeated gladiator, and conquered all of his opponents. At last, Sean said that the RHG was also about "Having fun while improving yourself as well as others as an animator in a collaborative event.".
Rock Hard Gladiators(RHG) history-pages 1 The RHG system was created in late 2005. It was designed to give a strong community project event for animators to use. Since then, animators such as Terkoiz and Armorstick have been participating in the system. When Terkoiz
Pulse is the Leader of GSS clan, this battle was made around the time FL is the head of ESMF clan, I'm sure (see the credits). Their clan battle was cancelled so I believe Phil made this 1-on-1 to at least show his enemy (who ended up not finishing his part) who's the boss at least. Oh don't bother to look for any of those clans in active clan territories, they both have disbanded long time ago.
It was still badass as hell... great atmosphere, especially since both fighters had handicaps (Umbrella was dying from radiation poisoning and FL was old and had one arm Also FL vs Thunder throwback ftw
Old and retired, but people keep coming after him to fight him. He had plenty of chances to end it, but he kept hesitating, and it costed him his arm. You can see he has changed as a person to respect life more, but his past keeps coming after him.
Instead, when he resorts to such things, he prefers to freeze every water particle in the foe's body. The expansion of the water particles upon freezing causes the foe to instantly turn to mush upon melting, and he can cause this instantly or slowly if he wants to torture them for any reason (usually only if he wants information or something). The interesting part? He's a GOOD GUY. If he gives his word on something, he never goes back on it, although he WILL kill if he has to.
Dude, this frustrates me so much (dealing with trolls) he has another video after that's a part of a collab. His part was called "Umbrella's Finale (part 1)"
+Dibdiblord It's called his final mission because it will be the end. everyone else he fought was build up to the one person who was the biggest threat to his clan, and that person was Alfa. He has no reason to fight someone else. Why fight some innocent people? I mean, Umbrella isn't a murderer. He is assigned these people. FLLFFL was the man they were after, and now the job is over. Also, only FLLFFL screamed upon the blood hitting the ground.
This fight against umbrella is gonna be Awesome! For one Umbrella has a ranged weapon with a melee DEF and Fllffl is a Melee fighter that has more experience than most Stick Gladiators so this will be a treat!
+Deapcrash101 ok basically pulse was about to explode and when he was going to explode he grabbed on to ffl fll hand to bring him with but scence he cut off his own hand he escaped the explosion now do you understand
The animator is making him look like he's aging through the years, like from his first RHG battle to FLLFFL vs Thunder's RHG. That or he's been old, but never really detailed it until this came up.
He let Resh choose the ending of that fight since he failed to meet the deadline, but Resh decided not to because "forfeits are lame". So Alfa is still in with a chance. Besides, any video that can compete with Resh's one must be a masterpiece, especially if Terkoiz made it.
I like how FL’s last fight affected his fight against Umbrella, just like how oxob3000’s last fight broke his legs and affected his fight against Jade.
I forgot to mention that Tarnish has reversed physics: it grows dull the less its used (although it would take a long time before it reaches the sharpness of a butter knife), but it grows sharper with each strike, which in his hands means it can reach maximum sharpness within a few hours or, since he uses it often, a few minutes, allowing it to cut clean through wood, quite a ways through stone, and even a little bit through metal.
I agree with this being several years after D and Thunder. He has probably fought off many other challengers off-screen and is just plain sick of it. Oh, and something I found recently: look up Terkoiz's Facebook page, scroll down to January, and check out the cover photo. Alfa is approaching scary levels of pissed off.
Or without pushing him to his limit by annoying him or just plain pissing him off too much, which is usually done by being so frustratingly stubborn that it eventually gets to him. XD
1. Alfa underestimating/looking down on his opponents finally took its toll. He pretty much lost an arm over nothing. 2. Still confused why he didn't just cut off Pulse's arm @ 2:10. Either way, gotta love Terkoiz for the animations.
The funny thing is... there are all these rumours, but in every other RHG battle the character is back to normal, like nothing happened in the last fight.
Dude, what if, (and I mean what if?) terkoiz challenged Resh so he could finallize FLLFFL's story (and pretty much take a break for a bit from animating). I know it sounds ridiculous, but think about it. Ever since FLLFFL lost against umbrella, terkoiz literally stopped animating, he didn't post anything ever since. And it's been like a year (or two) since he last posted something.
He might be just getting old and grumpy. In VS D, he was in his mid to late forties. If we assume that a couple of years have passed since his fight with D (not the animation, I'm talkign about the RHG's timeline) FLLFFL would be in his 50's by now.
Though terkoiz is one of the best animators at the stickpage, if i had to find a flaw deep cowered in these awesome effects, it would probobly be the walking at 1:30 . You are awesome but looks like you havent yet fully mastered the basic? Not that im better :D
Is there any specific reason that he just up and decided to throw Pulse off a cliff, while in the other fights with old FLLFFL he's more of a wise mentor who just kicks the opponents ass but lets them live? Like, did Pulse do something, or is it because he's from another team, or...?
Well thats true, but what I'm trying to say is if you were making an RHG battle would you cut one of the best fighters out there's arm off? Honestly I wouldn't.
Phil never give up to his character,he upgraded his character sword into mass-destruction weapon, watch his livestream,RHG No.13:FLLFFL Vs Ken-X(making).
The reason of why FL is merciless is: It's not because Pulse has done anything to FL, it's because of his dangerous power. As the Light-Magic user, Pulse is very prone to become unstable. Worst possible disaster is that he could explode in supernova, destroying the whole earth. Because of this, RHG official sent many powerful RHG fighters to kill him. And this explains why is FL's very merciless: His' and the earth's life is at the stake, should he go into supernova.
Rock Hard Gladiators(RHG) history-pages 3 Currently, the entire RHG system has gotten over 300 gladiators created by many animators. However, some were unavailable gladiators, meaning that they cannot be challenged. However, most RHG gladiators are available. (End of pages)
People talk about how Alfa lost his arm, but I'm legit horrified of how agonizing it was. Someone just bit your god damn arm off, and you have to use blue fire to burn your wound to prevent blood loss.
Probably because he knows that his hand will never heal and cut his arm off to save him pain in the future. And that it will take less time to cut off his arm than both of Pulse's arms so he won't be caught in Pulse's explosion.
It could also be he didn't know what to expect. His first full face may be one where he's thinking, "What is this guy capable of." Where with Thunder he had a shield and that was pretty obvious. When Thunder used the electricity Alfa stopped for a second maybe to process what this guy can do. Plus he got more serious when Thunder shot the electricity at him so he could just not like ranged combat (With a sword that's understandable)
That's just Umbrella's part on how FLLFFL died. Terkoiz (FL's creator) hasn't uploaded his part on how he kills Umbrella. RHG's can basically "respawn" or tell a tale on how they survived.
You do know that red is also a creation of Terkoiz. Nonetheless, it would be neat to see his two most famous (as of my opinion) creations face each other.
Story about this battle page5 be a few seconds. When Pulse comes to, he sees FL's annoyed expression as he sees that he had dragged him to the edge of the cliff, and is now holding him by the throat. Pulse makes one last desperate attempt to kill the master swordsman: Self destruction. Pulse manages to sent FL with him down the cliff, and as FLLFFL realizes that even
Just someone to finish FLLFFL story. Terkoiz made him & he was done. Hence him losing the next battle to Resh he gave Resh all ability to do what he wanted to FLLFFL.
Terkoiz's story pages 4 finally, it is shown to be possible that his favorite color is white, due to his entry in"Rushed 3" and his main character in "Unbalanced" "Terkoiz" Lacanlale is without a doubt a very gifted animator, so until next time, keep on animating! :D (End of pages)
Story about this battle page4 Pulse connects his two white bracelets, forming a small white dagger, and proceeds to pick up FL's sword. But as he looks to his right, he sees FLLFFL coming out of the smoke, and Pulse charges at him, unknown to him FLLFFL is carrying a small stone. As Pulse attempts to slash at FL, he proves to him that he can still fight without a sword, and upon putting the stone in the Jet Sword's funnel, he launches it at Pulse, knocking him out for what seems to
