Graeme & Mike Pullen take The Totally Awesome Fishing Show to North Somerset, and test fish Burton Springs Fishery with the target species of Bream. The technique is float fishing in the margins, and you get to see their carp and trout lakes, as this is a fishery that offers Big Carp, pleasure fishing on the pole or match rod for the Bream, or even some fly fishing for Trout. Even with only half a day to make a film, the dastardly duo get among the fish, and as usual there are some useful tips for beginners or novices. Bream are a common species, and the small pleasure lake is full of them. Ideal for a bit of casual fishing, where you can afford to experiment and try out different float fishing setups. TOTALLY AWESOME!

i think one of the main fundamental points graeme and his team are trying to make is that you dont need top of the range expensive tackle to have a great day and land massive fish ..tight lines all keep up the great and inspiring work graeme regards :karl.

We still fish with them, but you should also look at Shimano,they do quite a good range.Don't buy really cheap, it will eventually let you down, but also don't buy top end.

6lb Pro Gold. I use it for barbel into double figures and carp, so should be OK for mullet.

Depends on the sea conditions.Average beach rod 12 feet long.Breaking strain line 15lbs minimum,but with at least a 40/lb shock leader if you are casting heavy 4 ounce weights.

Yes, if the water is clear of snags, and the drag on your reel is set so it gives line. The biggest marlin ever taken on 4lb line, was I think ,around 700lbs !! so you are in with a chance of a 10lb fish.

No,I think you just buy a keepnet,then you have to use a bankstick to hold it.Get a long one though, it will keep the mouth of the net nearer to you.

fished for skimmers quite a bit myself and they can be a pain,a good way is to use a short hooklength say 4 inches and lay that on the bottom then put your last shot or shots just above your loop to loop connection which is just off bottom,you will get positive lift bites when the skimmers invert to feed, always use a lighter hooklength to main line and avoid putting shot on your hooklength .

Trout will eat pretty much anything,worse than carp !! I caught them on pieces of banana,raisons and currant cake.

Great video! Today i was targeting carp with only 1 rod. Got 5 bream in about 2 hours, average size 50 cm. Still i would prefer to catch 1 carp instead of 5 decent sized bream.

Look in ur tackle shop for a Korda crusha you can crush bollies and pellets and other hard bait and put it in ur groundbait with sweet corn and maggots I landed 30lb of bream and I land 5 carp over 15lb one 23lb TRY IT

I didn't think grass carp were a pure British carp ? But I'm prepared to be educated.😊 And to be really pedantic LOL😃😃 The only true pure British carp is the wild carp. All other species such as Common and Mirror were imported to the British Isles from Europe by the ancient monks who bred them for food. Now I'll bugger off. LOL 😊

You will need a heavy float as the swell or waves will probably push the float back in to the wall. Or you could use a smaller float fishing the more sheltered waters on the inside of harbours.

All coarse fish in the UK are returned alive. We don't keep them, otherwise there would be nothing left to catch.

TAFishing So what is the difference from taking a trout or a salmon which is a game fish,and killing it to eat,from taking one fat bream as example.They both would be gone from the river anyway.I dont understand .

Well the difference is one can eat there catch beacuse there is a limit to the number of fish one can have, 2. There the catch and releasing a fish such as yourself. 3. People eat there catch for survival being off the grid living. Hopefully reason help u out a bit mate.

+Reggie50 Fishing - Personally, I don't see the point of catch and release myself. Once you take the fish out of the water even for a minute, that fish starts to suffocate and starts to become brain damaged due to lack of oxygen. At that point it's way more humane to kill the fish than to throw a damaged fish back into the water IMO.
