What an excellent coach. We don’t have a vert ramp so I will never learn most of these tricks but I cannot stop watching. I hope this is able to help support you financially dude. Great work.
VERT is making a huge comeback. Once it is the cash cow that it was in the 80s-early 90s, then expect some vert ramps to spawn in your area. The community can help expedite this by engaging, sharing, upvoting and expanding visibility of all things vert. Vert is king. Period. Hopefully it won't entail much of a roadtrip for you to put some of these tutorials to practice!
Always been a street dog just learning vert now at 33 it's soo fun and these clips help heaps ,progressing fast hopefully you come back to aus soon and we can go for a burn ,do a couple angles then skate vert ,love you always rock the Icarus shirts I skate vert in mine now
Set that as a goal and work towards it? If this channel proves anything it proves that skating can be worked at in increments. U don't have to "hope for the best" in a situation where u could get badly broken legs. Sub to his channel, follow his advice , u will be adept at it in no time and have a pile of laughs doing so. Good luck dude.
This channel gives me a whole new way of looking at Mitchie. I no longer see him as a guy that spins too much but an all around super skilled skater thats a really cool dude as well. Awesome how he works w the kids and breaks down teaching them the fundamentals and tricks. Much respect
Thank you! Happy to be able to share some more about myself and skating. When it’s all contests its pretty boring with all the spinning and judging and whatnot. Happy this channel is doing so well!
Yeah, weight over front foot, board more than half way over the coping (more on the deck than in the ramp), lift back knee as high as you can. Most likely your board isn’t far enough over the coping tbh.
I am far away from Vert but your videos are so satisfying to watch, I've subscribed to the Patreon to learn about ollies, kickflips and shuv its on flat as I really like your teaching style! May I ask about the setup for Vert? Are the trucks more tight than you maybe would use in a bowl? And which wheels are you using - like diameter and hardness? The powerslides look so effortless. Thank you in advance!
Hey! I ride 8.83, thunder 161, and 56 wheels between 99-102, Dodo super rock hard bushings. Partly the reason that the powslides work is because the ramp is big enough to get weightless in vert. It would be much harder on smaller transitions but if you get your timing and balance right it works all the same. You can also message me on the Patreon app at any time and ill see it faster than RU-vid comments
@@SKATEiQ i'll be waiting for that video but meanwhile I will be practicing in my local park. Btw I saw your comment responding to someone talking about putting subtitles in other languages, I can help you with that if you are interested (Spanish subtitles)
To all skaters watching street is always available learn vert well for life watch this channel and achieve a level of skill above others at a tenth of the time. Here is the channel of future pro skaters in the making 🇦🇺👍🤙
It would be awesome to see you eventually putting subtitles to these videos into other languages like Portuguese,Spanish, or wherever you seem to be getting the most views from.
It is applicable… but with a caveat. It’s not easier by any means, but Ollieing into grinds on small stuff will put more pressure into the coping than big transitions. So just be careful and make sure youre aiming your heel to the coping to avoid any hang ups that come along
YES!!!!....the best vert coach ever!...had to stop skating last night as my concrete vert ramp destroyed my jordans toes!!!...i had duct taped and siliconed them but it was cheap duct tape and rubbery silicone so them doggies died after some bails....tonight i try to fix my other shoes!...i got some backside airs and some backside ollies in....learning about what i am doing already is extremely helpful for me to advance as older skater...saves time i dont have bless!!!!
Thank you! That’s great. I usually keep gorilla glue and shoe goo on me when im in trouble and just retape and re goo every night and overtime it hardens like a rock
I've been trying kickflip into a relatively steep ditch with a narrow, rough approach and can't seem to eye the proper landing zone, I ve landed on 2 but couldn't roll away. I'm popping in frontside and have got ollies into it on lock. Any pointers as to the approach on those? Your ollie and tre flip advice was enormously helpful. Changed my whole ollie, thanks a lot for this.
Yeah, kickflip like its flat ground and make your brain go numb so you dont do anything dumb. It’s gonna be like your fighting for your life on the way out but that’s what you signed up for
Man, this is so fascinating to watch. I’ve skateboarded a long time (not so much in awhile as I age) but just seeing vert demystified is very cool. Most of us hardly ever touched a vert ramp , and they always seemed so terrifying to me despite growing up with a willingness to throw my body down stairs and handrails on a regular basis. This is an incredible glimpse into a realm of skateboarding I never knew. Keep the content coming, it’s really great.
@@autismspeakz what a dog shit take. You literally see the product of his work in the videos. EVERY kid ends up with a make. I don’t think you understand the meaning of the word grifter.
