Float Plan - Put your Rescue in Your Hands 

Leave your itinerary with someone you trust and if you're not home in time, call for help. This is an extremely simple concept, leave a Coast Guard form, write it on an index card, or shoot a text but let someone you trust know where you are going and update if your plans change. This information will be used by your rescuers to find out if things go wrong.
