Its such an influential track, i remember watching a bit of footage of her producer talking about how they discovered a feature on of the synths that accidentally created the arpeggiated bassline heard on the track he instantly knew the sound would change the world of dance music, he wasnt wrong
And I like that he puts it out under the same artist name unlike a lot of electronic artists who create a new alias just for doing a slightly different subgenre
I hold myself back from listening to this tune because I don't want to ruin it for myself. I love it - best tune I've heard in a long time. Such a thumper and love how it jumps around.
Most electronic musicians I like mature from dry techno into more artistic, experimental spheres. This is the opposite movement: Floating Points has had his artful phase a while ago, and now seems to return to club bangers.
imma speak my mind here but i dont find anything particularly interesting about his late output, promises was great, crush was great too but had hints of the direction he was going in. now it feels like the populist uk breakbeat style stuff you hear everyone else doing, its a similar trajectory bicep and overmono took, its quite insane how many different musical hats and shoes fp could wear simultaneously. with his jazz band ensemble and the intricate modular works and the early deep house works, id quite like to see some of that deep jazz influence return, if he wants to just make fun music fair play though cant knock it.
@@ElemuntDesign I think you should check out this unreleased track of his at 56:33 here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2e0Okii-wJI.html and see if you feel the same, he's still making masterpieces, just made a few more club oriented tunes as of recent which still have that 'floating points' sound
@@ElemuntDesign Someone Close and Grammar are still very much his style I would say even if he moved to more breakbeat with the two other tracks on that EP. The guy does what he likes so anything could be next
Crazy crazy crazy song, the Essence of electronic music, like the Random access memory of electronic music. Gives me goose bumps and an uncontrollable need to dance. Looove it !
Smashing🔥 My banger of this year ❤️🔥. I listen to every tune by Floating Points that Apple Musique had to offer since, but there’s nothing like this one. We need more 🥰
stupefyingly awesome music......and loving the colours and moving images.........beautiful😍🥰😍🦋🦋🦋.....I feel like there might be a name for the the way these colours move and interact....but have no idea what its called😳.
Great tune I first heard you drop on 1st of Jan this year... then again by many of your friends during multiple sets, always guaranteed to get the crowd moving! Very much for the dancefloor not just headphones. Cool video too, 0:37 for the LP art, my copy is ordered!
How about creating a melody, maybe even harmonies…? Instead of just sounds stapled on each other. But that requires some genius, I presume? Today’s music is like 1986 before it all happened in 1988.
Sorry, not sorry. Underwhelming. Very predictable boring mainstream dance track. Floating Points could do better than this. How could you release something like this after track like Vocoder? And promises? I don't understand that decision. Looking forward to next single.
Not sure the next single is looking forward to you. 😉 Seriously, there is a beauty in straightforward, unencumbered raw power. (Also not entirely sure what is more subtle about "Vocoder".)
@@phonomat1587 You need not wink at me and be condescending. Even though I am disappointed I am still a big fan. Your unneeded engagement with my comment is unwelcomed. Please move on with your negativity. Bye.
@@withallduerespectcompletely Sorry, not sorry. I fail to see what is cynical about my post. In fact, it's quite the opposite. You might want to look up the definition or just spend an afternoon with my grandmother. Toodeloo!
