I know it's been a while since i had plans to do this build but if you watch the previous video (a couple video's back) i explain why. It's simple. Security. I can't have this thing sitting out front of my house with 2 24" subwoofers and a ton of power just asking for trouble. I got to a point where we have too much nice stuff and too little places to actually park at night. But that has all changed. We moved almost a year ago and now we have a safe place. Now i guess the only thing we really need is time. Since way back then, my shop has gotten 1000% busier. It is hard to find time for this stuff. But i am determined to get this done! Stay tuned, more amp rack work coming soon. Wiring, finishing, bench testing etc. This thing is so heavy!

yea at first i was like how the hell would some thin sheets hold it up but then noticed it's decently thick plate for what you will need. This'll be a sick looking rack. its been great watcjing your fab skills improve over time. keep it up.

@@meade916 I just got my 2 zvx 15”v2s the other day and built the box for them. It’s in my 2001 GMC Yukon! It’s pretty decent and way louder than my one kicker L7 15 lol but now I’m gonna have to save my ass off to get some lithium or xs power batteries bc it’s dropping my voltage super low even with the big 4 and (cheap Amazon special) high output 250 amp alt with 2 regular batteries. Love the builds man!

I know you can do this without all the machines, but you still design it from the floor up and they make it faster. Its fun seeing what you do with them. Nice welds too.

Thanks man! i can weld, been doing it since Jr. High...pre-mig. Just arc welding and oxy/acetylene back then. Been using the mig for years of course but not enough to get REAL good at it. In order to be real good you need to do it a lot. I can lay some dimes down when i'm in my groove but i need to work on my consistency and also my vision. Sometimes i lose track of where i am going mid weld LOL!

Raw looks pretty sweet but powder coated white would look good to especially back lit with some LED's that one would assume will get added. Looks awesome and I appreciate the content

@@meade916 man welding is one of those things you can do for a lifetime and always improve.. As with any true craftsman, always learning, always improving, and always teaching. Please my friend even with all the tech available,make sure to show the young guys the ways of the old school. Can't lose those ways, and skills. I cooked for about 24 years before having to retire (disability, lol from working) and I can already see old school (normal things ) going out the window

Damn Steve this has to be the strongest amp rack I've ever seen built personally. Doing this with steel was so dope and your welds came out good bro. This is going to be so 🔥 when finished. Would you build something like that for a customer if they ordered, or is it to time consuming for regular sales? Way overkill!! A 1 second tack can hold 100lbs…Also, it you can want a smaller welder, try vertical welds…less warpage. Anyways…still cool to see you utilize ur new tools in a build! Kickass!!

I have a smaller welder. I upgraded to the bigger better one. No need to do a vertical weld and make it more difficult for really no reason. This worked good.

I don't know what you're smoking but them welds all look nice, and they look to have great penetration! I wish I could weld like that! Sadly my cheap welder has limitations! lol That amp rack looking great though, something out of the norm and sets the build apart. Also have an idea for those 90.4s, both are the same heatsink except the old one is not threaded for the aluminum silver bars on top. I'm sure you could easily cnc out some custom bars out of plexi for the top, and use a bottom tap to make the 2 holes on the old amp, just don't go all the way though the heatsink, and use the new 90.4 to get the dimensions and locations for where to put the holes. For that matter you could do some custom plexi inlays on the tops of all 3 amps! I'm sure you'll think of something, you always do, or you'll just buy another new matching 90.4. :)

oh ya i thought about that but i wouldn't need to thread anything. I could just stick on some colored bars with the clear 3m tape. I got another 90.4 on the way so i won't have to use the old relic. And i will probably STILL change out the bars. I was thinking white....or pearl white with a logo in it. Thanks man!!!

I think changing the bars, and possibly engraving something on them would spice the install up even more than it already is going to be with that bad ass amp rack!
