Very nice review! I agree that it has really good qualities that unfortunately are veiled by the bass all too often. On less bassy tracks, there is an audible sweet treble and above average details. Then the bass hits and the clouds roll in particularly in the midrange. Nice first try by FloAudio but really hoping that their next try is much more balanced without the intrusive mid-bass and improved bass detail.
Iann... this seems to be a sub-brand of Audiosense, the IEM has the exact same shell (color, form, termination and even the vent grill of their AQ4) the cables, carrying case, tips, and the other waterproof carrying case in their store are exactly the same. Looking forward for their next iteration of IEMs... probably hybrids ?
Thank you for the video, I appreciate your thoughts. However, I am new to the audio space, and I have no idea what driver flex is. Could you please tell me what that is, or just point me to a video that explains what it is? I have heard Crinacle say that term as well, but I have no idea what it means.
Driver flex is when the driver bends due to the pressure of air against it. Usually it occurs when you're inserting the iem in your ear. When, upon insertion, the air that is inside has nowhere to go (no vents) or can't escape quickly enough, it builds pressure and the diaphragm bends, producing a click sound. It can also occur when removing the piece from the ear. Basically when there's a sudden flow of air.
Thank you so much for your explanation. I know exactly what you are talking about in terms of the clicking sound, I have had this issue on my CRA as well.
