To be honest its actually making a great comeback with some of these newer Neo-Soul and R&B artist that have been releasing music, try listening to H.E.R. , Daniel Caesar, UMI, Summer Walker, Ari Lennox or Marco Mckinns just to name a few H.E.R. Actually samples It's Getting Late by Floetry in her song Wait For It
Dawnie to the Max me too! Floetry, Bilal, Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, Raheem DeVaughn, BJ the Chicago Kid, John Legend & Jazmine Sullivan all worked with The Family Kindred. Their oldest son is dating my neice. He has a beautiful spirit like his parents.
Unfortunately this type of R&B doesn’t exist anymore and it’s a shame. I’m beyond thankful for music like this. I really appreciate all the real artists that we had back around this time. This was a beautiful time in life early 2000s was magical.
It's kinda funny to see comments with "they don't R&B like this anymore". We sound like our parents. Think about it. Lol . One of the reasons it's so good is Because it's Not done like that anymore. ... Now get off my lawn.
Definitely not! The one with the locs is toxic. Marsha needs to continue solo. Look up the reason for this group split on RU-vid by RRG & you'll change your mind.
The harmony between these two girls was and remains a thing of true beauty. The dismantling of them is a lost to us that have a love of music and themselves
This song is timeless so back here all the time. Check this FIRE cover. Singer's got an incredible voice ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-33_Iv-NmQLM.html
@@modernmodest5659 it's also the type of music that was popularized by spoken words artest that was set to music in the late 90s spoken words continue today with people that are laid back critical thinkers and woke
I remember this is one of the songs they played in the club when it was about to close and the dj would always say "I'm trying to help the fellas take someone home" great memories.
But 1942 and early '43 though?! it really started in '42 but the real bangers came out in 1943 in all honesty. You're right though the 90's had some oowop oowee!!
Still a Sultry, honey sweet/ Sticky jam with so many undertones of raw emotion and feelings. It embodies being caught up in someone's rapture and not even trying to escape it!!!! Soul on Ice!!!!! Pure Melodic Erotica at a undescibeable and undeniable level. 🔥🔥🔥
yeah the early 2000s u had d'angelo, erykah badu, amy winehouse, bilal, musiq soulchild, jill scott, floetry, remy shand, alicia keys, dwele, india aire.
Wow...the year this song came out my mother had passed the year prior, I had just become the legal guardian of my 12-year-old sister and begun to raise her, and we finally were able to move out of the projects to a spacious home in a safe community. Wow...what a trip down memory lane.
My condolences to you and your family ❤️ it's amazing how we can relate a song to what was going on at that present time in our life. I feel you on that❤️
Wow, the words the energy the vibe it relaxes the mind you’re mentally emotionally physically and sexually expressing in an amazing way just how you truly feel..it’s comforting tranquil like a warm bath candles bubbles, internal peace and quiet and amazing thoughts 😉🤫😊😊😊😊😊🎼🎼🌺🙏
So happy I FINALLY started getting into Floetry. I love her stage name. So fitting. first, I found Erykah Badu, and now Floetry... it's Neo-Soul heaven around here
Listen to H.E.R and Ari Lenox (you might like jhene aiko and summer walker but they may be a little too pop for you) then just go down the rabbit hole lol
It never went anywhere. Change and new music just came in and became the trend. There are many artist I listen to on a daily basis that still have the late 90’s early 2000’s r&b going on but they are put to the side. You just gotta go looking for them
@@gringowars5125 No we aren't. There's absolutely no way to know that and you are using gods name in vain by suggesting it. You are falsely using the Bible to push your own agenda that involves the judgement of others. It is possible to rebuke, it is possible to judge fairly and correctly, but what you are doing right now is calling our judgement in the form of blaming others for the onset of revelation. Even though God says that it will come like a theif in the night, at a time that is peaceful, when the last thing you'd guess is that the world would end. Throughout history we've had many bad times, many places that exercised moral debauchery and division, now is not special.
