Question: When someone drops a rifle on those nice hardwood floors, does it leave marks in the wood/finish?

From my experience, any toss higher than a triple will definitely leave a white scuff mark on hardwood floors. At the former high school I used to teach at, the Athletic Director required that we performed on a tarp for winter guard since any type of droppage from rifles/sabers will scratch up the court.

Usually it’s because the paint from the tape used on the rifle leaves a mark

When I started on rifle, I had a 39 but then she gave me a 36. :/ I’m super tall, and I feel like at 36 is too small for me. Oh well too late to go back now. What the instructor says, goes. No questions asked.

That Mexican i suggest rolling to the right. so toss your five and give it some distance to travel to the right and roll AFTER you release and you could catch it either on the ground or standing up, on the ground might be easier with a five

I thought most guards generally do put the black tape on their equipment to use it as a sight. All of the guards I spun with did, anyway.
