This is a great play out of the high/low we run against zones already. The only hesitation I have running it is there’s no one up top for defensive support. Looks prone to over the top run outs.
It really depends on the 1-3-1 team that your playing. Against a team like ours that almost exclusively runs 13 defense. We’re really good at closing out to the corner. Most teams usually run it as a back up and therefore haven’t practiced it enough to stop this offense.
That's called a Box and 1 - 4 players playing zone on low posts and elbows, protecting the lane and covering the best player 1 v 1 with your best defender or switch between two good athletes to tire them out.
