The couple dudes on the right are collecting wood debris maybe for cooking and/or for cold nights? These people don’t seem to live in an urban city so they see this opportunity to collect easy wood even though of course it’s common sense to not put yourself in such a dangerous situation. It's a disaster when people run into the side of the river to pull out logs when a freak wave can sweep them away to death. It's a disaster when one guy is telling other people to get out of the way of the water, then runs out into the flood to pull rocks and wood from the water.

To the commenters below: first world concerns as the majority of the people have few if any assets, so a flood brings something to trade for, you name it; food etc. Would you not risk your life for that?
Mark Kingston thank you for resorting to personal attacks when confronted with a hypothesis. Maybe one day your climate god, biden, will bless you for your dedicated work. Maybe. Probably not
