Floor Jansen & Henk Poort obliterate minds with Phantom of the Opera on Beste Zangers! | REACTION! 

A little fun fact about this show. Before Floor was on this show the public didn't really knew who Floor is. She practically became famous overnight in Holland and some say broke the internet after her first performance on the show. Singing Vilja Lied to Henk Poort. She has since also appeared on the German version of Beste Zangers where she also blew minds away.

And thus Floor conquered a nation. The energy and chemistry on this performance was off the charts. Not a bad job at all for a "metal singer."😊

I am Dutch. I know the other singers. I never heard about Floor Jansen (first introduction, like te most Dutch people). After this song I am a great fan. I discovery Nightwish. I think Floor is one of the best singers in the world!!!

This was the last episode of the season where the singers did several duets together. Every year they invite singers from different genres and generations to celebrate music. In the earlier episodes the other singers were already in awe when Floor performed, so they should be prepared what could be coming. This was the closer of the show and it blew everyone in The Netherlands away. It also kickstarted the solo career of Floor. Soon after this the whole Covid thing happened however and Floor was homebound. This 'free' time Floor used to explore her own sound and write a lot of solo stuff. Her Amsterdam solo show is definitely worth a watch (of course this one was also performed there). Henk did also 2 other duets with her at that show. All the videos are uploaded on her channel and the introduction video 'The Road to Amsterdam' as well.

So glad you picked this version. The unexpected stage appearance of Henk with Nightwish was great for the band's fans and Floor and Henk but this particular performance has an "in-your-face" intimacy that surpasses the stage version.

Floor, a lifetime fan of Henk asked him if he'd diet with her and said yes, but only if he could perform it with Nightwish when they next played Amsterdam. Along came Covid which delayed that happening, but they've performed it together on several solo shows. Very recently, Metallica asked Floor to open for them and Floor invited Henk to perform it with her there. Bet Henk never dreamed that he:d be supporting Metallica.

You can hear the thunder at the beginning of this video. Because bad weather was coming their way, it was exciting whether this song could be sung. Fortunately, things turned out differently and we were able to enjoy this anyway.

Yep, this performance! - I've never gotten out of my chair while watching something on RU-vid, but when I saw this video for the first time a few years ago, I found myself standing in front of the screen at the end of the song. And I think I might have heard myself yelling something. Never happened before or after that.

It got through! 🎉 The other version you saw with Spencer was during the concert in Amsterdam last November. I was there, it was as amazing back then, as is this version on the Beste Zangers.

Henk Poort played the Phantom😊 according to Andrew Lloyd Webber he was one of the best. Floor was and is an absolute fan of Henk Poort as Phantom. So wenn duets for this show came, Floor wanted to do this with Henk. He then said he would want that too, but as a returning favor he would love to do that with Nightwish in the Ziggo Dome, planned concerts but got cancelled and postponed due to Covid. Then last year concerts could take place again and 2 Nightwish concerts took place in November. It was a well kept secret that he would be there. Someone already commented with the link to that performance😊 you will hear the absolute joy from the audience as soon as the music starts. Nightwish had not played Phantom in 17 years. But oh man, what a blast they all had. Of course everyone on stage was amazing but Floor took it to a whole other level❤please do react to it sometimes🤗

I’ve been waiting so long for you to do this. Floor went all out in this one because she was singing with her idol. She idolised Henk when she was studying for her vocal training. Floor had no idea that Henk was going to sing in a rock voice. He did it as a little surprise. This was definitely the most powerful of all her versions of this song. Even opera singers who have reacted to this were astonished that she could sing that last note with that amount of power. When you said you couldn’t remain on the couch we were all laughing our asses off because we knew what was going to happen when she hit that last note. All the guys in the studio jumped up like their asses were on fire! Keep rewinding, keep saying “what?!” Keep reacting to Nightwish!

Floor "The Unstoppable" Jansen and Henk "The Dutch Phantom" Poort, not only I have this song , and many others, in CD form (Beste Zangers Season 12), but also in Vinyl (Beste Zangers biggest hits from the 15 seasons). The "house band" for these shows is the Marcel Fisser Band (Dutch band) ... they can (and did) play ANY style, ANY form, ANY genre and sound AWESOME doing it. They impressed Floor so much on this show that she took them with her to do a sold out solo tour immediately after...it only got derailed a the end of the tour by the outbreak of COVID.

I must say i really prefer this one over the version with Nightwish, as much as i love them. But this has just such a special intimicy. Great reaction again!! All songs she did on this show are amazing. This was 2019 and in the Netherlands 95% or more did not know her at all....until this show. But she was already one of the best singers in the world in her old bands. Please take a look at After Forever Dreamflight live at Progpower 2007. Imo you will her the roots of Epica. Mark Jansen of Epica was the founder of After Forever and Floor joint the band when she was 16 years old.

All the people on the couch had heard Floor's music when they came on the show. They had to decide which of Floor's songs they would sing on her "day". That being said, seeing it on screen vs in person must have been a shock. Another must-do song from Beste Sangers is Henk and Emma Heesters doing Vivo Per Lei. It was probably the best song of the season, which is saying a lot.

Henk Poort is classically trained, that is hard to miss, but Marcel Fisser, from the band with the same name, stated that they are a pop band not a metal band. Kudos to Marcel! If you intend to do more from Floor on this show, look for clips that have "outro" or "intro" in the description, that will give some short information and reaction to the song (with English subs)

In the show beste zangers, they called henk poort ''Uncle Henk'' because he is like the sweet funny uncle at parties. and he is way older then all of the other people there. but when he starts singing, he always sounds so professional and serious. Its amazing because the moment he stops singing he laughs at the people on the couches and he starts cracking jokes again.

I feel like the last note in the Nightwish (Floor+Henk) version was more impressive, but the build and everything else (vocally) in this version is better. The intimate setting here creates a lot more chemistry between Floor and Henk too. This is easily my favorite version, though I also love the Nightwish version, with the band adding their magic, and again, that last note!

Check out her version of Vilja Lied on this same season of Beste Zangers. That was the first performance, and it was the first time these other singers heard her. They had no idea what they were in for. The attitude was something like, oh look, a metal chick. How cute. What's she gonna do, growl for us? And then the Floorgasm happened. It is fun to see. (Before someone has to jump in to "correct" me, yes, yes, I know Tim Akkerman is an exception to that rule. He had known just a little bit about Floor prior to this.)

Hey Dude, Loving your Nightwish Journey and your show, The last Note that Floor Hits is a D6 on the piano scale, that is almost right the top, and she holds that note for 8 seconds. Me, I am Nightwish fan since 1997, seen them live 24 times all over Europe, Also followed Floor Jansen for the same amount time since, her After Forever Days her First Band, and then her own band Band Called Revamp, also seen them a good few times. Dude you need to check out (After Forever), Floor started at 16 years of Age with them, She was there for 12 years before they disbanded and then Floor started her own band called Revamp. The original Phantom was played by Michael Crawford in the UK who previously shot to national fame in the 1970's as the hapless accident-prone Frank Spencer in the sitcom Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em. Its hilarious and Crawford actually did his own stunts on the show which included hanging 200ft up the outside of a tower block, being dragged by a London bus on roller-skates and dangling off the rear of a car over a real cliff top. Check it out, its very, very funny with emphasis on slapstick.

The people on the couch are all well known Dutch singers from different pop genres. They were all surprised by Floor, thinkng she was just some untalented screaming metal singer. Wrong! Many of the session musicians on this show were hired by Floor for her solo shows. These Beste Zangers reaction are very cool, because you are reacting to all of those singer reacting as well. Henk is the original Dutch Phantom (in his younger days). Floor is a rare and unique talent. Dumbfounded is the correct term. = an extreme form of being surprised or caught off guard.

Henk is an operatic tenor, Tim Ackerman is Rock/pop, Emma is a RU-vid sensation, will millions of fans, Rolf is a Latin singer sensation, huge in Miami and Latin America and other places where they speak Spanish, the other 2 (too late for me to remember) are both huge in their own country, Holland, Floor, prior to this season of the show was fairly unknown in Holland as metal is not as big there as in the rest of Europe. But she was the highest selling singer ever in Holland for a Dutch singer, both from Her previous band After Forever, (were really good, more metal than Nightwish, but Floor still had opportunity to use her vocal range. ) and from Nightwish. Now she is massive in Holland too......shocker huh!
