mattoverho1 ; she added a soft g to the Finnish pronunciation. Maybe the Finnish should add it to their native tongue to stay in line with Floor’s pronunciation.
I once heard someone speak finnish: she was talking while inhaling. I thought that was so cool. But she didnt want to do it again she said it wasnt proper finnish but a dialect her grandmother spoke. Or somehing ? But ever since I wonder how to sing while inhaling and how it would sound in metal. Maybe rapping a bit is possible that way. Does anyone out here know more about talking while inhaling? Furthermore there is the Joik a Sami jodeling chant also very interesting.
I just love Floor, Beste zangers of Holland opened my eyes to nightwish and Floor and I'm just so happy to have found a "new" music genre to enjoy (I'm 64 now).
Freja is one of THE LUCKIEST beings to ever walk the Earth! I just hope Floor and Hannes can instill all of the best qualities into their little princess. :)
She is the best Singer in the world as far as I am concerned. She sings superbly in any style or language. I would love to hear her sing mariachi songs in Spanish.
At this "Metal Christmas" concert in Finland Floor is 6 months pregnant and she still sings the stars out the sky. She stands on stage like Maria herself.
At lockdown listening the Best music !As a woman loving that s succesfull woman can also enjoying being mother and at the same time continue her shows :You Made me smile and for that THANKS!
One of the all time great Floor comments. Lets just imagine if Freja can sing like her mother ( not a given unfortunately. Singing often skips a generation for some reason)
What can't she sing? That question is now answered; nothing. Period. Why isn't this woman covered in Emmy's, Oscar's and f*cking Nobel Prices for all I care!?? Where else can you find a voice with the unique combination of stunning range, ridiculous diversity AND ability to convey such a spectrum of emotions? Pick whatever song of hers and play it at my funeral; it will most probably revive me!
After having gone through the rollercoaster from ecstacy knowing Floor offering online singing lessons to the disappointment realizing that she is not available any time soon, I am here trying to seek some comfort from watching Floor's baby bump and lovely smile.

What I can say... Holy spirit speaks through Floor. God bless you all - no matter who you are.
It is so fun to hear Floor say things in Finnish, and with a pretty good pronunciation to boot . Very endearing to the Finns in the audience I bet. What a majestic woman she is!
When she yelled: ”Kaikki!”, and not many people sang, I thought: ”Oh, silly Floor! We don’t want to drown out your gorgeous voice. Besides, nobody can sing that high! Oh, Floor, you Goddess, you!” 😆
@@kees5395 Tarja is a classically trained soprano, who studied at Sibelius Academy. She has a 3 and a half octave range and certainly can sing high. Floor's range might be a third higher. She is also classically trained at the Royal Dutch Academy. I would give the edge to Floor for versatility. She could sing a dictionary and people would still listen.
I am going on with 9th time watching this video in a row. She sparkles the joy of Christmas with her presence during this very religious Christmas song. Lyrics here if you want to sing along with Floor and experience the difficulty of Finnish language: Oi jouluyö, oi autuas sä hetki, kun ihmiseksi sai Herra taivahan Synteimme tähden henkensä hän antoi ja kärsi ristinkuoleman Jo toivon säde hohtavainen loistaa nyt yllä maan ja merten aavojen Siis kansat kaikki, te kiittäkäätte Herraa Oi jouluyö, sä lohtu ihmisten Oi jouluyö, sä lohtu ihmisten Jo kirvonneet on syntiemme kahleet, on taivas auennut lapsille maan Orjuus on poissa, veljesvaino päättyi, siis Luojan kiitosta laulamme vaan Toi rauhan meille Herra taivahasta ja puolestamme astui kuolemaan Siis kansat kaikki, te kiittäkäätte Herraa Oi jouluyö, sä lohtu ihmisten Oi jouluyö, sä lohtu ihmisten
I'm pretty sure she didn't sing "Toi rauhan meille Herra taivahasta" in this performance. It sounded more like 2:40 "Ja rauhan meille kohta toinen loista" which doesn't make sense in Finnish (even though you can find all those words in Finnish dictionary, literal translation of those words would be like "And the peace to us in a moment another shining") and doesn't match the official lyrics either. Other than that, she had very good Finnish. The biggest issue was that "jouluyö" sounded more like "joulyyö" - I'm not sure if Floor had problem pronoucing that three letter diphtong (not really - there's syllable break u-yö) or it was intentional wovel modification which she does in English songs, too, to improve tonality of the music over official prononciation. As a Finn, missing the "u" in "jouluyö" sounded a bit off but still understandable.
I saw a few times it looked like Floor wanted to do the windmill and had to stop herself!!!!!!! The bottom line is this. Floor is a beautiful woman! A pregnant Floor is so gorgeous it is beyond description!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! This is my first time seeing this video. And i love it! Play list here it comes! At the time of my comment there were 41 thumbs down!!!! I can only imagine that those 41 people are brain dead and have no appreciation of quality music and Beautiful singing!!!!!Thank-you.
Oi jouluyö, oi autuas sä hetki, kun ihmiseksi sai Herra taivahan Synteimme tähden henkensä hän antoi ja kärsi ristinkuoleman Jo toivon säde hohtavainen loistaa nyt yllä maan ja merten aavojen Siis kansat kaikki, te kiittäkäätte Herraa Oi jouluyö, sä lohtu ihmisten Oi jouluyö, sä lohtu ihmisten Jo kirvonneet on syntiemme kahleet, on taivas auennut lapsille maan Orjuus on poissa, veljesvaino päättyi, siis Luojan kiitosta laulamme vaan Toi rauhan meille Herra taivahasta ja puolestamme astui kuolemaan Siis kansat kaikki, te kiittäkäätte Herraa Oi jouluyö, sä lohtu ihmisten Oi jouluyö, sä lohtu ihmisten
And in a foreign language she doesn't really speak. Well, of course moving around with Finnish band she's bound to have learned some phrases - but I bet she doesn't really speak it. This sounds like somebody who has skill to learn how a foreign language sounds, but still something in the stressing or the facial movements related to the words reveals she doesn't know what she says. But it doesn't bother, we Finns can understand the words.
@@timomastosalo She tried to learn the language, but she quit when she moved to Sweden because it is very difficult to learn the language without actually living there. However she is able to speak a few words on the level of a small child buit she can't really express herself in Finnish. However she has mentioned that she is pretty much able to understand what her bandmates are saying when they speak Finnish.
Quando a Deusa Floor Jansen canta, a melodia que sai da sua voz derrama a brisa da plenitude nos ouvidos dos mortais, que tem a chance de conhecer a verdadeira arte...
They probably never will either. I don't think Floor wants to compete with Tarja's style in "her" songs, and Tuomas seems to be done with writing the more operatic stuff. We can always hope for more, but I really doubt it.
@@Un4Given71 Yes, I think Floor has her own style and I'm not a "Tarjaholic". After watching this I thought that we can have an even better Nightwish because of this woman's vocal abilities. Well we'll know soon, fortunately the new album is in the making...
Yes, agreed. I hope Tuomas is paying enough attention. If he actually writes for what Floor is capable of (and maybe even pushes her just a little bit, but SAFELY), Nightwish will absolutely blow the doors off of several charts around the world simultaneously with this next album! I CANNOT WAIT! :)
@@edudario1974 The cool thing is that she can do it all: the opera style, the jazz style, rock even growls. I really miss her band ReVamp, which was more on the metal side. She quit it because of Nightwish :/ Well, it probably is hard to have multiple projects going. I just hope on the new album her voice will be a bit more in the focus. Be it opera style, or whatever.^^
BEAUTIFUL!!! Singing while pregnant is SO hard, so much diaphragm is needed, and when that baby is squishing everything, breath control is so hard to get. She did amazing!
The mixing in Vehicle of Spirit is just awful IMO..boomy BOOM BOOM bass leaking everywhere. Bleh! Agree this one is miles better, even compared with the new 2019 version, this pregnant version still is better..vocals is more majestic, instruments have wider soundstage, etc.
Amazing, sweet, angelic !! Endless Floor Most Beautiful !!! "Oh, holy night, the stars are brightly shining It is the night of our dear Savior's birth Long lay the world in sin and error, pining Till He appeared and the soul felt it's worth A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn' Fall on your knees, oh, hear the Angels' voices Oh, night divine, oh, night when Christ was born Oh, night divine, oh, night, oh night divine A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn' Fall on your knees, oh, hear, hear the Angels' voices Oh, night divine, yeah, oh, night when Christ was born Oh, night divine, oh, night, oh night divine Oh, night divine Oh, night divine Oh, night divine !!! "
‘Raskasta joulua’ has a double meaning in Finnish. It’s not only ‘heavy Christmas’ but also ‘pregnant Christmas’. Thanks Floor for spelling it out to me😊
I don't like Christmas music, but my goodness her voice is so pure and magnificent. My eyes began to tear up. Floor is amaaazing! I wonder what Floor "Junior" was thinking hearing those notes coming from her moma. Of course it probably sounded muffled to to her.
