Also a recent sad news - these days Marco Hietala, the bass player and male singer of the band, announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. As I saw, you enjoyed the powerful performance of the band, together with the stellar vocals of our Dutch metal queen, Floor Jansen. Hope you'll continue on this path. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). I get what you saying and she is very consistent but she worked so hard for this and I would hate for us to portray a vibe of it coming easy to her. A machine is mechanical, bland and programmed to do things in the same way. In that sense Floor is as far from a machine as you can get.

I am a 63 year old Texas man....and yes...everything is bigger in Texas, as I am 1.98 meters tall...and Nightwish's music helps me more than most could understand! I live in constant pain, and have difficulty sleeping because of it! I listen to Nightwish to help me relax and get to sleep most nights!

Hey Michelle, here Piet from The Netherlands, 70 years. I discovered Nightwish four years ago. Floor Jansen was a participant in the Dutch Show ‘ De Beste Zangers 2019’ ( the best singers). Floor was fantastic there. All the songs of that show are on RU-vid. So ..from that time I am a huge Floor and Nightwish fan. So good. Greetings from the Netherlands

That's right! Weird thing was I didn't even plan to go to Wacken that year but the line up was too good to not go! It rained the whole day so at night when they were playing (I guess it was around 10-11pm, can't remember) it was so muddy and even flooded that you simply couldn't really stand in row 5-50 at first. But we went through the water pretty early on and caught a perfect place in the second row. Damn drunk but damn hyped back then! Good times ❤
