I like your emotional reactions so much! I feel the same like you. Every time. This is in my opinion one if the best cover versions of any song ever made. Ever. Floor has been my favorite singer of all time for 3 years now. Ever since I discovered her when I rediscovered Nightwish 3 years ago. I even have a big painting of her hanging on the wall next to my dining room table. I got it as a 60-year present a year ago. Painted by my daughter who is an artist. Don’t give up! Keep the reactions coming! One can feel how much music means to you. 💙

Yes, she makes you cry. No escaping from it. Floor is bad news for artists. When she covers your song you instantly lose it. It becomes hers. Not that she tries to achieve that. She is a wonderfull gentle person. But it just happens. Just listen to her cover of "alone" that she did at home during covid. There are a lot of exceptional good singers out there. But there is only one Floor Jansen. The best female vocalist of all times.

Hi Buckeye Creeker, the tv--show Beste Zangers is very popular in Netherlands. Each season vocalists from different genres come together and every episode one of them is the guest of honor and others sing a song that they made a hit or means something to them, often stepping outside of their comfort zone (and obviously, Shallow is not metal). Floor was not well-known in her home country before this (can you believe it?), only one of her colleagues there knew her before. But this show changed that. She sang in German (operetta, Vilja Lied by Franz Lehar) and Spanish (salsa, Que Se Siente) and, with Henk Poort, The Phantom of the Opera. I think, with the subsequent corona period, this show helped Floor to choose a path to her first solo album and the solo live concert in Amsterdam.

Little bit about me, Yes Live in the UK, I have been a Nightwish and a Floor Jansen fan for just over 25 years, Seen Nightwish live all over Europe and UK 24 times, Floor in her first Metal band that she joined age just 16, who were also Dutch and they were Called (After Forever ) Floor was in this band for 12 years, before they disbanded, they made 5 great Albums, I would love for you to see a very young Floor, rocking out in this band, I will give you some great recommendations, if you would allow me to?, when this and finished, Floor then started her own Metal band who were called (Revamp) they were together for 7 years, Before Floor was asked to help out Nightwish to Finish their would tour, and the rest is history my friend, You keep them coming, and We the Nightwish Army will keep on watching. 👍

There are and have been many great female vocalists in the world, and there are a few exceptional ones, then there is Floor Jansen on a level all her own

Back story. Emma Heesters (Sparkly red dress) had a massive hit with her cover of this song in Holland. Unfortunately she couldn't enjoy that success at the time as her mother was very ill. Floor knowing this dedicated this performance to Emma and her mother, now better, and even changed a couple of words in it to make it more personal to Emma. Hence why there are a lot of smiles from Emma. Also probably why they kept the focus on the both of them quite a bit too. Floor not only being incredibly talented demonstrates her compassion and caring nature that makes her very special.

We ALL feel like that, Buckeye. Floor is an enchantress - she draws you in, enthralls and seduces you. Whenever I'm listening to her, either with Nightwish or without, I'm either grinning like a maniac or wiping a tear out of my eye. This show took Floor from being virtually unknown in her own country to a superstar overnight.

Her version of the song Winner, in this same show, wrote by Tim Akkerman, the man withe the Curly hair ( who wrote this song for his wheelchair bound brother) That is a very powerfull and also a very uplifting song!

I remember the excitement when these first came out during the pandemic. It took my fandom to the max. What a soul.

I always try to comprehend, what it has to be 3-4 Meters away from Floor, when She performs, no Matter if full throttle or like here, tender interpreting every single damn Part of an Word. her Projecton must be whole Body hitting. I know one Opera Singer from our federal Opera Haus. When he Sings, and you are that close, feel it resonating in your whole Body, no Joke. Emotion Overload, when He do for Example Ave Maria. You Shiver and then you Water down. No escaping. And he talks of Himself as an medicore Singer , much Training, more Passion,less Talent(i dont Agree, btw:D) No Matter the Style or Tempo. Don't be ashame to react emotional; it shows that you have an open heart. I know there are more good female singers in the world but no other singer makes me feel like Floor does. Her voice has a healing effect to me, wraps my soul in some kind of "warm blanket" and links me to my deepest feelings. It seems to me that - besides her technical perfection - she always sings with her whole heart and soul and that touches you in a way I have never experienced before.

She gets a lot of us in that way. That's what natural talent and years of hard work and practice sounds like. To top it all she seems like a genuinely nice person too.

Floor just makes Floor things. Others sing what they can - Floor sings what she wants.
