Floors Castle was never a castle as such, but a comfortable country house built in the 1720s. It was in the 19th century that all the battlements and turrets were added for the 6th Duke of Roxburghe.

I'm going to put turrets on my bungalow. Just so I do not feel left out.

A number of years ago, G. I-K had just arrived in NYC, and promptly left his wallet (with US$9,600) sitting in the back of a taxi. The taxi driver noticed it not that many minutes after, and returned to the hotel to make sure he got it back. The duke rewarded the driver by having him, his wife and four kids stay as guests at Floors for two weeks.

Through my family heritage, I should live there. My great, great, great grandfather is the 8th duke of this castle and had an affair with the maiden having a baby; my great great grandfather.

Got the same sort of thing in my family, but once it gets out that it was "on the wrong side of the sheets" that's it no one will take it seriously. We should have got more reliable ancestors, bit late now. Very sad.
