Your new approach to presenting the deck profile while showing the building process is a great idea and helps me to learn how to go trough the process by myself. Thank you as always for the great content, Matt! 😊
Grats to the Diamond 1 climb and Thanks for the content! Are you planning on playing during the link event if so any ideas? Most likely going to be playing Dark Magician with Links myself.
@@g07h4xf00 Dark Magician has some potential, since it can get Accesscode through the selene line. Also the Spellbook link gives you a very searchable draw 2 for consistency. Otherwise just setting up a secret village + circle + souls + DM board might work for a while. Maybe even adding the ritual DM for a slightly stronger boss?
Not really no. Most decks you encounter will not be backrow decks. And even the backrow decks you do encounter can theoretically be dealt with using a combination of Raiza, apex avian, and unexplored winds. I'd rather have cards dealing with combo decks.
Love your videos keep up the great work I am curious what are your thoughts on evenly match for the deck I was running it before this deck lost and subbed for drnm
@@g07h4xf00 ended up subbing in 2 evenly and a lightning storm instead of drnm was running into so many mirrors but got to diamond one! Can’t wait to see your thoughts on the ban list
I play 2 copy’s of the harpies trap, I think it’s very powerful for the going first (sometimes in the going second too), I play 3 dark ruler too in the deck and for the rest is almost the same, overall very nice video 😁
Appreciate knowledge and economic terms that are applied to Yugioh…opportunity cost is perfect for deck building…just curious on your the new floow boss monster if it’s worth running one of them?
Played floo for a few weeks without d shifter for a few weeks because I was poor and a new player (it looked like the weakest UR in the deck). The deck will function, you will still win games going first by empening out statue, but you will lose a lot of games that you would have won with a d shifter. Floo is bricky, bad at going second, loses hard to quite a few single cards, but being one of very few engines that can run d shifter basically makes it good
I ran into a wild Floo build yesterday. It played Rhongo and one of the new URs from the Selection pack called Numbers Eveil. It was kinda crazy. I still beat it because he only had four materials but I feel like most people would have scooped immediately.
I currently play 3 imperm 1 veiler and crossout. Imperm is good 1st or 2nd ( I use it as a pseudo DRNM when 2nd to bait negates or turn off the problematic monster or if I can kill their going 1st turn for sure). Veiler is extra crossout target and a good negate (eg. lubellion). I also run ash instead of maxx because maxx is most of the time countered for me and ash is nice against branded. So list is kinda balanced for going 1st or 2nd and better on the mirror I believe. Currently 9-0 in dia 4 (got me 4-0 through plat 1 and 5-0 to dia 4).
Floo is the best deck in the format because most decks have 3 useless cards against it. Those cards being maxx c. Also chain-blocking the Robina allows you to at-least start your combo where as with despia you might as well quit if they ash your branded fusion.
@@g07h4xf00 Selection Pack: Wandering Travelers is no longer available since September and most floowandereeze cards are not in any secret pack now, i guess crafting is the only option but thats pretty expensive (for me at least cause i don't have a lot of SR CP) bummer
@@pabloconstantino4611 😨, so that is the reason I generated Empen and it didn't unlock the Wandering travellers pack. Well, it seems I will have to stick to Eldlich
What do you think about Jack in the hand? It's an odd choice but I still found it very useful as it's still a free bird. More searches are always nice. Normally your opponent will take Robin but you'll still get an eagle.
I'm actually running the exact same build from irl the only difference is prosperity is at 1 in MD so i have to run extrav but that's the only difference and it's Hella consistant
I just realized that there is no secret pack for floo. Crafting all these cards will be quite expensive 🙈🙈 Do these packs come back again? I think it would be better to wait then 😕
@@g07h4xf00 unfortunately not. I think there was a selection pack before I started to play. But right now you have to craft them or buy master packs 😅😬
im not a fan of maxx c atm here, against swordsoul its good but despia can limit itself easily. i like the simorg line, even if just elborz. on the way to d1 i watched statue stare down an aliester. the bird of perfections are fodder for the quickplay and also thin the deck out.
So Maxx C against Branded Despia gets you AT LEAST +2 draw if they go Lubellion into Mirrorjade and special summon nothing else. If they also want to go into 1 or 2 Masquerade that's like +3 or +4. For Swordsoul on average they might just summon 5 times which is still a +4 (bc moye is normal). I still think Maxx C is worth it because 1. it baits ash, 2. it draws you cards which, even if it isn't very many, is still highly beneficial to floo to either see your full combo or your board breakers (like DRNM). I'm not opposed to running the Elborz Simorgh package instead of Maxx C I just think that Maxx C is just really good for drawing what you need on your turn.
How does Zeus or Omen out Final Sigma? Final Sigma is unaffected by card effects (besides mathmech cards) meaning the only proper out would be closed goddess.
Amazing video! But I think Maxx C is a pretty bad card in this deck. Going firs it's just a brick. Gold Sarcophagus is a better card. It's basically a fourth copy of Robina.
@@g07h4xf00 I mean, if you don't open a bird or pot you are just going to lose. Wtf! But if you Open sarcophagus end any other bird you have Robina. You can also use sarcophagus to chain block.
@@luizfernandotesck144 I understand the interaction, but I'm just saying there's a reason Floo players in the TCG moved away from Gold Sarc. It's like people who like to play Small World in Floo. Like yeah theoretically it can search you a little bird but you have to already have something in your hand to banish so it's not great. You also have to consider the fact that the Floo deck core is already incredibly tight so to add stuff like the simorgh/elborz package, maybe the small world package, gold sarc, etc etc means you're either going to be overall more inconsistent (if you go over 40) or have fewer hand traps / tech or side decking options. I'm of the opinion that you should try to have like roughly 12 if not more cards in a 40 card deck (I actually only have like 11 in this one) dedicated solely to tech such as D shifter, DRNM, etc so that you can do something about your opponent before you even get to your main combo line.
@@luizfernandotesck144 Why do you think Maxx C is useless? Do you not think drawing cards, instantly ending your opponent's turn, or baiting Ash is useful at all?
Eldlich will always be good and competitive but floo games are quicker so up to you. We are no longer in a format where you flip witch's strike and they instascoop lol so playing eldlich is a lot more tedious especially with how resilient branded despia is
Correct. So if you do tribute their card you should bounce Raiza back into top of your deck and bounce a card in the GY. If you really effect if unexplored winds it says that you're not tributing to monsters you are sending them to the graveyard and if you read Raiza it explicitly says that the monster must be tributed.
Content never disappoints man 👍 How do you feel about harpie harpist and feather storm? Seen it in some lists and was curious. Also, floo for the link event? Looks like only barrier statue is banned 🤔
Empen is banned and Robina is at 1 for the event. Feather Storm does nothing going second. It also requires you to have a wind bird on the field which is not guaranteed. D Barrier is better in that case because it doesn't have that requirement. I side it in my IRL TCG floo deck though.
It's useless in that matchup but in my experience the 2 most popular decks were branded despia and swordsoul. If that's changed, or that's not your experience, if you see that floo is the most common deck then feel free to change out Maxx C for something else. I'd recommend Droll in that case.
Also by your logic that means that D shifter is useless and so is barrier statue which couldn't be further from the truth they're some of the best cards in your deck. That's not good reason
I played very few backrow decks but the ones I did play I usually dealt with using Unexplored Winds and/or Raiza/Apex Avian. They're honestly not that common.
maxx c doesn't work with d shifter, you cannot called by ash if you D shifter. Don't run d shifter or don't use maxx c and called by bc you're just making your bricky deck even worse.
Actually they work together fine. D shifter and Maxx C are both cards that end your opponents turn pretty much if they resolve. You can d shifter on one turn and then Maxx C on another. Or do both on the same turn if you think your opponent will play through shifter (Maxx C on the same chain). Maxx C is great ash bait and it's not like I'm bricking my deck by being at 40 cards when I already at max floo starter ratios. If Maxx C does resolve oh look I get to draw some cards and be less likely to brick. Your reasoning makes no sense. It doesn't matter if I can't called by on the ash if the opponent literally doesn't get a turn thanks to d shifter.
@@g07h4xf00 it does make sense. You dont run Nib, everyone knows floo players dont run Nib. Your reason ONLY makes sense in a going second scenario where you drew both shifter and maxx c. In most cases you either shifter or maxx c. Running D shifter and called by to me just doesnt make sense especially when you can just chain block all your birds anyway or use advent
@@4pfBulmond Nib has nothing to do with this topic why would you bring it up? You don't need both shifter and Maxx C. One is usually enough but having both is a cherry on top. Advent doesn't stop or dodge Ash. That makes no sense. Called By is for situations where you don't have D Shifter and you don't want to deal with cards like Ash, Droll, Veiler, etc. You can only chain block ash if you have map which isn't a guarantee, and ALSO map only generates 1 chain block which, if the chain block doesn't protect Eglen from ash, then it doesn't even matter. If you open Maxx C going first, set up your board (no shifter) and then Maxx C your opponent on their turn then it makes things even worse for your opponent. It's good going first or second. What you're saying doesn't make any sense.
@@g07h4xf00 no it doesnt stop ash it just gives you another search bruh so whatever you were gonna search for you can grab w advent. Reason I brought it up is bc in most cases you're getting OTKd if you dont draw nib what's the point of maxx c? Nobody going second is gonna be scared of maxx c if they can OTK so it's useless
... You do realize there are plenty of decks (in Master Duel AND the OCG) that run Maxx C without main decking Nib, right? You're aware that you're not required to run Nib and Maxx C together?? Maxx C can draw you into so many good cards. DRNM, winter cherries, additional big birds (for more summons on dreaming town), etc. It's very unlikely your opponent will be able to OTK you over empen + statue + dreaming town or empen + dreaming town. The fact that you can't see the usefulness of Maxx C or why everyone in the OCG plays it just blows my mind. Also, for times you don't have Advent of Adventure to get an extra search after being Ashed, it's really good to have called by the grave. Called by the grave is just an insanely cracked card in any deck that needs to combo without being interrupted.
