Pieces written during World War 2 always fascinate me, considering the environment.

i wonder how many people see the command 'MUST BE HEARD' and immediately refuse to listen to it, regardless of whether it seems interesting, or not . . . for some, an all-cap command to do something ensures that such action will never be done . . .anyway, you've got a wonderful collection of music on each of your channels and we are very grateful for your generosity in sharing such fine works of aural art. muchas gracias y saludos desde Tokio.

What a silly thing to think.

Semantics...it could easily be book recommendation and read "this is a must read for the summer" It is assumed this just means "highly recommended" and of course highly recommended means highly recommended by the recommender. One persons "must" can still be another person's "eh..." and that's fine. That said, I will agree that "five stars" should be reserved for the best of the best (of these unknown discoveries). It is great they are all here for "us" to pick and choose what we must hear..

This beautiful concerto of Peeters is rarely heard. And regrettably nearly all of his choral and organ music has fallen into obscurity in the R.C. church. Peeters spent a lifetime composing sacred choral and organ music for the church he loved. Much of it based on chant and modality, which were very close to his heart. At the Cathedral at Mechlen, he would often improvise preludes and postludes based on the chants of the day. After Vatican II, Gregorian Chant and the music of Peeters, Langlais, Palestrina, Victoria, Morales, Mozart, Rheinberger, etc. were the "babies thrown out with the bath water" and replaced with third-rate cocktail music of Wise, St. Louis Jesuits, Haas, Haugen, Schutte, Cooney, etc. When this "happy-clappy" has finally lost it's glitter, perhaps the church can finally attach the word "sacred" to music once again.

+Dan Ahlin You should hear what the roman catholic church in Austria has done. They've completely abandoned the old "Gotteslob" - which was already pretty mediocre, and replaced it with a collection of infantile 4-5-1 drivel. Your term "happy-clappy" fits perfectly to that. And they think this will help draw in more people...

So sad! In the 50s, Peters was considered "the best" by many and choirs worked hard to perfect his masterly composed Masses and motets... alas, in most places gone with the wind...that "spirit of Vatican II. Well we all have seen the fruits of that bitter "spirit"!

Before it can be heard, it must be completed. There's at least another 10 minutes to go

What's more interesting is WHY it "must be heard" I look forward to listening to those so endorsed. I like some and don't like others. So what is the criteria that determines the special attributes one assumes the piece possesses? I wouldn't know "good" music from any other; I only know what I like. Someone once said: Wagner's music is better than it sounds" . Some people think it is "good". Some people like it, some don't!

I think that here our host use "must hear" because a lot of very interesting music but not by the super known giant composers dont have the attention they should get too. It is a shaw-case sort of way to put that music and of course mean he personally likes it.

Any idea where can I buy full score (organ and orchestre) for this concerto? I searched internets for it and found only version for organ and piano :/
