You're a joy! I'm a relatively new floral designer and this was absolutely wonderful and easy. I've been using this method and it's just so easy and straightforward. Also, thank you for encouraging and enforcing our worth as artist!
This is so helpful! I’m always too shy or doesn’t have enough confidence to charge enough. Thank you so much for sharing your experience to help others do well or better.
I'm so glad it's helpful. I also learned that the first time is the hardest but once you land that first client at full price you can start to see how much of it is all in our heads 😋
Hey there, thank you for your helpful info!!! My husband, daughter, and I have a garden of lupine, snap dragons, zinnias, yarrow, and bee balm! A local resort wants our flowers, as arranged bouquets in a variety of vases. They want small, medium, and large bouquets, in addition to small mason jars (with 3 - 5 flowers in each) for the large u-shaped bar. Any ideas of who I could consult of how to charge, given that it's not us buying wholesale, but what we have in our garden. We bought the plants, tilled the garden, planted the garden, and will have to weed the garden, pick the flowers, and design the arrangements. Thanks, Kitty
That was very straightforward presentation and I appreciated it. How would you adjust the pricing model when you are growing the flowers and arranging them and selling them?
I’d follow exactly the same approach in terms of the markup - and price the flowers the same as other growers / wholesalers in the area (possibly add a premium if you know the quality of your flowers is better than at the wholesalers) 🥰
I'm so grateful for all of your videos! Thankyou!se I'm currently struggling [along with all of you no doubt] with the rise in wholesale flower prices. I'm looking at your examples of pricing formulas, based on todays flower prices, and I'm dreading sending the quotes off to my brides! Any advice?
You’re definitely not the only one! As a business coach, I’d ask you to go one layer deeper - the sense of dread, what is the thought leading to that feeling? Is it a fear of what they’ll say? Is it the rejection that might follow? Get super curious and go one step deeper. 😌 I’d love to hear what you come back with too.
@@LittleBirdBloom thanks for replying! I think it's a result of repeated nock-backs because of the price. I've stuck to the pricing model, and I don't back down, but it's kinda disappointing to have people assume you're only out to rip someone off.
Love your videos. Wondering how you factor in rentals for your quotes. i.e. urns, pedestals, arches and the like. Is that part of your wholesale cost, is there a different mark up denominator, or do you pass on just the exact cost?
When you give your bride the bill, how do you break down the costs to include tax? Do you show labor, cost of goods flowers and sundries? Do you have a sample of a bill that you presented?
Oh good question. Our invoices break down each item we’re delivering (I.e. bouquet, corsage, table arrangement) and then show the tax and total owing - they actually look like any invoice any other non-flowering business would send. The breakdown of COGS, labour, hard goods is kept all behind the scenes and we keep track of it in our operations and budgeting. I like to think of it like going to a restaurant. We don’t know how much of our total bill goes into food vs rent vs staff costs - that’s up to the restaurant to manage. We just get a bill for $50, with a breakdown items and told to pay the bill. Hopefully that’s makes sense but don’t hesitate to reach out 💖
Generally speaking, the guide I like to follow is about 20% of the total budget goes to wholesale flowers - it's not exact but it's a great place to start.
