I want to say that graveyard vs cemetery … it is the same thing, I think it’s kind of a British English vs American English thing. I also think that graveyards are used more often here stateside as a smaller cemetery area. I think there is also a church aspect where churches use the term graveyard.. again usually a smaller area Not sure how accurate this is, but I think this is pretty close to right Bonus: People like to use cemetery to avoid the word “grave”
