I had to come and applaud you 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 for having a pool fence around the pool 😝 it's not something you see often in the US but here in Australia it's a law and probably should be there too! ❤❤
@BensExoticFlorida
@BensExoticFlorida 7 месяцев назад
So it is law in Florida that a pool must be completely surrounded which we have via the metal fence and house but we have the extra flexible fence between the house and pool because of our little kids.

Fellow Florida gardener here!, thank you for the lovely tour. My fig tree was in the same exact pot as yours, 😂 just put him in the ground last week. Very nice garden. I recommend trying a passion fruit vine, they grow well here.

Thanks! I used to have a huge passionfruit vine on the fence but it suddenly died. I'll need to try again.

YOU SHOULD CLEAN ALL DRY BANANA LEAVES FROM THE TREES SO IT CAN FRUIT PROPERLY

Nice garden tour. I live in Zone 10B and have mango, sapodilla, papaya and guava trees of different cultivars and yield tons of fruits. For me the tropical garden is not complete without papaya and guava trees. Papaya and guava does not take much space as for guava one can prune and train to go vertical or put in a large pot. Papaya tree needs only very little space as its trunk diameter in compare to other fruit trees are way small and can be put in the corners of the yard. What hardiness zone are you located?
@BensExoticFlorida
@BensExoticFlorida 6 месяцев назад
Thanks. I used to have a papaya tree and then it died and I recently got another one that's still in a pot but I'll plant it soon. I don't have guava because I've never had a guava that I enjoyed eating, although I've only ever had bad ones from stores. Any guava varieties that actually taste good? I'm in 10b

@@BensExoticFlorida *Ruby Supreme* - This variety is known for its sweet, juicy fruit with a good balance of flavors, including hints of strawberry and tropical fruit. *Mexican Cream*- This variety is prized for its sweet, creamy flesh and its ability to produce fruit throughout the year. They are excellent for making jams as well.

Nice garden. In my opinion bananas just waste of spot where you could plant mangoes or something nicer. Just my opinion
@BensExoticFlorida
@BensExoticFlorida 5 месяцев назад
Thanks. I hear that but bananas do have some good things going for them: they fruit year round unlike mangoes which only fruit once, they don't take up much room and can be planted pretty much anywhere, and at least the namwas are incredibly delicious, nothing like boring store bought bananas. I definitely want to keep bananas somewhere in my yard

Never seen a gardener take a plant ,put it in the ground and then return it to the pot . Lol. Thats a first. 😅😅😅😅. Perhaps make sure the soil is fertile enough before putting it in the ground
@BensExoticFlorida
@BensExoticFlorida 7 месяцев назад
Yep, I had it in the ground for about a year and it was struggling the whole time. As soon as I dug it up and put it in a pot it started thriving. Maybe I'll do a quick video showing the history of the tree. Thanks for watching.

@@BensExoticFlorida it happens to all of us! I actually had a fig tree that I had planted that never thrived until I took it out of the ground and repotted it. Sometimes everything works on paper but doesn’t otherwise.

That's my plan for this summer! I got the coconut cream tree at Truly Tropical after trying it along with some other varieties but the coconut cream stood out as the best of what i tried. I'm hoping to make more visits this summer.

I've never had the pleasure of trying sugar loaf yet. I'm hoping to try a lot more varieties this coming mango season and hopefully sugar loaf will be one of them. Until then, coconut cream is still the best I've had.
