Florida has banned homeless individuals from public areas across the state. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis enacted House Bill 1365. The new law bans homeless individuals from sleeping or camping in areas like parks and on sidewalks. It also mandates that local governments must establish facilities with essential amenities like bathrooms, security, and running water within a specified timeframe.
But the big questions is, WHO PAYS for these mandated amenities?

So glad to hear this I, saw a homeless man with his dog and everything he owned in duffel bags and back to packs at the public mall strip.I felt so sorry for him I had just left the doctor's office and was feeling real bad or I would have stopped and asked him if he needed anything and I really wanted to. It was so sad he was sitting against the wall with his faithful loving Dog I suppose hoping that someone would notice. Not all homeless people in that situation want to be in it. Things happen most people are just one paycheck away from being homeless it's just the way it is. Imagine being kicked out of your home because you're jobless and have nowhere to go and nobody to ask for help this is what you would have to do. Be kind and don't criticize because it could be you.....

Taxpayers should NOT be asked to pay for homeless. There are already plenty of resources.

Ah yes what are they? How many available beds are there in shelters vs actual homeless numbers? Clearly you must know all about it. Or maybe you’re one of those people who treats them as dogs

Newsflash...we have all been paying for the homeless problem directly or indirectly as a society already. The cost is just spread around differently and now may be clearly easy to identify. Time to wise up. Long term solutions must address the two prevailing themes amongst most homeless people...mental illness and addiction. If a municipality misses their opportunity to provide these types of resources, these "service areas" will be a non- solution. I dread what they could become over time if mismanaged.

I don't want to live in California, New York, Oregon, Washington ect. Homeless people tend to flock to areas that allow them to camp wherever.

So not much has changed to address the problem. The Alfred E. Newman look alike did manage to use his favorite word "sue" in his word vomit press release. He continues to show his distane those less fortunate or "different" than himself and places undue burden and stress on local government.
