Egmont lighthouse was my first duty station out of basic training. I was stationed there from June 74- February 75 and now do volunteer work with Egmont Key Alliance.
If Ft Dade was built in 1898, how could it have been used in the Civil War (1861-1865). Or which Civil War? Do you mean the Spanish American War maybe?
Hi there, yes I did miss-speak in the video! The fort was not yet built during the Civil War but the island itself was used by the union navy during the Civil War.
