Utah looked like they were going to mop the floor with Florida regardless of who played for their team- 1st, 2nd, orc3rd string didn’t matter. They knew the assignment. Mission accomplished for the Utes!
Florida performed better than expected . This is going to be a 4-8 year at best. Great job in Florida athletic Director boosters and all the dip shits that destroyed UF football.
Pathetic. A badly coached team. The job of the coaching staff is to put kids in a position to succeed and to make the most of their skills. It is not happening at Florida.
What’s crazy is Utah is this good but only going to get $24mil a year in the big 12 while Fox literally agreed to pay $40mil to Washington and Oregon for them to join the B1G 🤦🏼♂️
JV football. You lost Oklahoma and Texas. Utah probably gonna run them boys over. And I mean the leftovers. I'm taking Cincinnati over Utah in the 1st game they play in conference.
The numerous mistakes and awful execution are signs of a poorly coached team. 2024 recruits should pay close attention and ask themselves the following questions: Is this what a Florida Gator team is supposed to look like?? If I do sign a Letter of Intent, will Napier even be around by the time I get on the field?? 😔 smh
depends on a couple of things, #1 money, #2 playing time...if they looking for that then their recruiting class might be fine cuz they get paid and they will start as freshmen (especially on that o-line sheesh talk about being manhandled)
FL's problem was not talent tonight but execution. FL offense had problems running simple pass plays as the WR was expecting the ball on the outside and it was thrown inside. WRs, RBs and the QB acted like they never played with each other and it showed. It doesn't matter how much talent the 2024 recruiting class is bringing in. The issue tonight was coaching. Another couple of games like this where it's obvious his team was unprepared and Coach Napier is gone.
@@mizer9510 I’ll take sucking if that means winning it all. The days of old are gone for now, accept it. Florida is a dumpster fire and man is it beautiful!
Mertz was put in the same situation he was in at Wisconsin. No protection, no run game, no receivers, getting open. Defense couldn't line, up, and the list goes on
31/44 for 333 yards a td and an int of the face of a FLorida WR. No time to pass and poor play calling in the redzone cost the Gators. Dude is a great talent but needed a QB coach and good play calling. Badgers gave him horrible play calling and no good QB coach.
@@microprodFlorida fans say this kind of things every year. Every team deals with losing players, especially with all the transfers going on. Good programs recover.
Looks like Florida might be in for a long season And as a Dawgs man, I hate it because whenever Florida has the worst seasons, somehow, in Jacksonville, when they play us, they suddenly can play like the prime N.E. Patriots. =_=
@@LordTylerBluGunderson There is no legitimate reason to think Oregon is going to dominate this year, especially not against the huskies. Sure, anything can happen in college football, but Bo Nix returning is no reason to think they’ll win. Michael Penix also returned, as well as his top 3 receivers, and unlike last season, this one will be in Seattle.
For a second there I was worried that the Wis. Badgers got rid of a good quarterback but now I'm not so worried, Graham Cracker Mertz Cheese doesn't disappoint!!
Mertz went 31-44 for 333 yards. How exactly did Mertz lose the game? As someone who actually watched, poor blocking, and critical penalties on scoring drives are what did the Gators in. They shot themselves in the foot every chance they got. Mertz, along with that defense, was actually one of the few bright spots on that team. But they couldn't block up front to save their lives. This loss was on Florida's o-line, and the countless false starts and holding penalties which killed every chance they had to score.
@@WarriorVIIif you gone as Mertz to throw 44 times you get what you ask for. He’s not the type to put the entire game on his shoulders he need complimentary football which he didn’t get.
I'm a Gator through and through but I will Utah their props. They came to play. Now on another note. I wish Napier, and all coaches for that matte, would sit down with their players and let them know that all the grandstanding after getting a first down or a even catch don't mean squat if you're trying to play catchup. I maybe old school when it comes to that. But when I played if there was so much as laughing going on on the sidelines and we were playing catch up, best believe we were going to hear about later. In the locker room, on the way home at game film review and most definitely at practice. I'm not taking anything from these young men but they seem less focused on how they were playing as a team and more on primping after a catch. Again this is just my humble opinion. Hopefully this loss will help them become more focused on the fundamentals of the game.
I'm no Ute fan by any means... but seeing one of the SEC's "name" schools get stomped on by a very good team from a conference on its deathbed makes me smile...
@stanleyfontaine25 Utah was playing back up QB and back up Center. No. 21 on fl d-line is just a fat waste of talent. Florida got blown out by a 4 loss team missing starters everywhere. Florida is trash under sunbelt Billy. As a UGA fan you'd want FL to continue to be trash, but this is embarrassing. Billy has to go
@@Michigan_Spyglasses Florida was a six loss team with a brand new transfer qb. They were also playing a back center with 12 of the 22 starters being fr. or so.
@@MrMrl69 that and it seems like nobody is in sync on offense. But I believe mid season yk we always come out n show the team we could have been all year
Congratulations Utes. I'm a Vols fan and very pro-SEC. So why congratulations? I took issue with that Florida player's arrogant comment about your stadium. “Lil ah stadium.” You just don't go into somebody else's home and criticize the furnishing, wall color, and wall decorations. You just don't do that. Glad you stomped the arrogant lizards, and rather decisively. Sadly, arrogance seems prevalent in our society today.
Unprepared Undisciplined Coaches and Players At this point Steve Spurrier needs to take over! Not like he has to play just be the Head Coach! Saban is Rolling with the Tide in his 70s why not!!!
@@unclejj13er75: Washington goes to USC the week before they play Utah and then Washington goes to play Oregon State. I think Oregon State is a dark horse to win the conference or at least get into the conference title game (hosts Washington and Utah, doesn't play USC, likely only huge road test is at Oregon).
It’s already hard enough being a commanders fan but gator PLEASE TIGHTEN TF UPPP!!!! My blood pressure can’t handle another 20 years of MEDIOCRE FOOTBALL
To me, this was more about Utah being quite good, particularly at home, rather than Florida being really bad. True non-conference road games against other power opponents are TOUGH. There is a reason Utah is the repeat conference champion and currently #14. SEC fans: SEC is the top conference, no question there. But it does not mean they are unbeatable--even the perennial powers. You can’t claim to be the top conference and then say your rank-and-file teams aren’t actually that good. Either Florida is stacked with SEC talent, or SEC Talent doesnt mean as much as you’ve previously stated. Either you can justify only 8 conference games and numerous cupcakes because ‘the rest of the SEC is murderer’s row” or they aren’t actually murder’s row. You CANNOT have it both ways.
Man as a badgers fan I was so excited for mertz to come to Madison. The highest rated QB to ever commit. A beast in Kansas in h.s. and I put alot of his bad play on the coaches at the time but he's sadly looking the exact same. He always just seems lost. Some throws are absolute dimes but others are to hard or just way off. The man can move to but it's just not looking like he's going to overcome what ever it is in his own head. He's always scrambling and hesitant an we had one of the best o lines in the country for him. Hopefully it turns around. This is a tough utes team to.
As another badgers fan, you ignore that our OL was one of the worst we've had in about 20ish years (good compared to most but not anywhere near our standards). Mertz actually looked decent against Utah when he had more than .7 seconds to throw the ball lmao. Not to mention that Chryst flat out told Napier that we misused him. Mertz could've done decent at a different school but will unfortunately get blamed for the losses even though he has one of the worst defenses and OL in the country, just because he's the qb
@@nightmares356 no I 100% agree with you. I'm a huge fan of his and obviously it's not easy switching teams and hope it gets better but it just seems like this style is always around mertz. Idk time will tell us. And like I said Utah is no push over, there a solid team.
Man it's hard to watch the Gators play that kind of football and to see how far they have fallen Billy Napier had a great recruiting class everybody talks highly of him but the Gators look like they had no fire and they made a lot of mistakes
These numerous mistakes and awful execution are signs of a poorly coached team. 2024 recruits should pay close attention and ask themselves the following questions: Is this what a Florida Gator team is supposed to look like?? Oof. Going to be a long year for FL. If the QB situation resolves, Utah is primed to make a run again for the final Pac12 crown. Might as well. ;) Fwiw, I'm pulling for Oregon State... woo they got shafted.
