That looked like an IPS pod drive that busted off in the reef. They are designed to break away so they do not damage the hull or leave a gaping hole that sinks the boat.

Loved your video…it really gives the viewer a sense of what you are experiencing. I am starting to plan a trip down to Bahia Honda State park from Southwest FL and you gave me some great ideas. We spent the last year renovating a 23 year old boat and now she’s like new. Also, taking a scooter down to Key West was a stroke of genius. There’s no place to park and it’s so much easier to get around this way. We have a pug that we take everywhere too and he also invades our personal space constantly. He won’t “go” on the boat either!
