Hello
Welcome to the start of a new vlog series. We’re going back to Florida 🙌
Before we start off with the Florida vlogs I thought I would do a video talking about the cost of our upcoming trip and let you know Florida doesn’t have to cost you an absolute fortune but I’m also not going to tell you it’s cheap because it’s just not.
Join me talking you through our planning and costings and theme park ticket options that could save you money.
Oh and I have to say I’m sorry. I can’t believe how much I touch my hair in this video!
Must be a nervous thing I didn’t even realise I was doing 🤣

Can't wit for the next vlog series. Love your vlogs. I think this will be very helpful for lots of people. I too, only book with airlines and get our villa privately. (We use the same villa everytime!). I had never thought of getting a 2 day universal ticket, so thank you for that 😘. I will def look into it for my November 23 trip. We went in April thus year, and as usual only went to Universal twice the whole trip. So looking forward to your trip. X

Brilliant video and extremely informative. I have been to Orlando on many occasions and can't wait to be able to travel back in May and September 2023. I totally agree that you don't need to spend a fortune on food, refreshments and merchandise. Key is to plan each day, but be flexible as things will change - weather or just too tired! Good advise on tickets - these are getting more expensive every year. It is very difficult to fit EVERY park into one vacation. Next year I'm visiting Discovery Cove in May, with 14 days at other park and also buying a Universal Annual Pass. Then in September, it will be Disney and again being able to use Universal Annual Pass. Cant wait to see your HHN vlog - it will be my 1st visit to HHN in Sept '23!

We've just come back after flying from Gatwick to tampa with ba as it was the cheapest. (We flew down from Manchester first). We actually gambled and didn't book seats for us and our 2 teens and luckily got sat together 24 hours before. The plane was packed on the way over but quite empty ok the way back so you may get away with not booking seats on the way back. Have a great trip and look forward to the vlogs.

best tip I've got is to look into Norse Atlantic for their flights from LGW to MCO - they've undercut BA Virgin by far - yes its budget and you have to pay for all extras but even when I added it all in the prices for 4 of us in Premium was only 50GBP more than BA/Virgin's economy offering and 2 grand cheaper for economy - no brainer
@theburgesses2004
@theburgesses2004 7 месяцев назад
Ah that’s great. I’d have no problem flying with Norse or Tui. Would like to give them a go just to compare but unfortunately the cost was almost double with both of them compared to what I booked in the end for next year. I was shocked but will always check for future trips. Xx

When we go back to Florida it will be the first time as I’m in a wheelchair now😟 so Disney & universal are our main go to places, we have done sea world, Kennedy& Busch gardens, so our daughter will be 23 by the time we go so my wife has been saving for just the two of us my daughter and her partner are saving as well. We are planning on staying at a hotel not linked to Disney but very close by we are needing a SUV so we can carry my wheelchair & the four of us in. So lots of saving until 2024! We are going back to Florida this time, last time was 2019 just before the pandemic. It's our 5th time (3rd for our 7 year old daughter) so we kind of know what to do and expect. We've always gone with Virgin but their holiday was £1500 more expensive than BA, and that included a huge discount of £57 for 28,000 air miles! We are flying with BA from Gatwick to Tampa (£500 cheaper than MCO), Avis car hire (Rav 4 type), staying at the Avanti Palms and Conference Resort, we've got the Flexticket as I refuse to buy a Disney ticket with no guarantee of park entry. It cost around £3800 total, while 2 weeks for Tenerife for the same time of year was £3500. So Florida was a no brainier. We get asked about park and food recommendations a fair bit. We always answer, depends on what you like to do as you are busy pretty much the entire time and it really depends on what food you like. Best advice is plan, plan, plan and just enjoy it. Keep up the good work 👍
@theburgesses2004
@theburgesses2004 10 месяцев назад
Ah how exciting. Yes Virgin just seems to have priced themselves out recently especially when adding kids to the mix. I struggled to get them to even price direct flights at one point. Tampa is definitely a good alternative and if it saves you money even better. Exactly. Everyone does their holiday differently and you can spend as much of as little as you like and eat whatever you like. You’re on holiday. Hope you have the best time xx

@@theburgesses2004 Thank you. It's Florida, we'll definitely have the best time! Growing up I always thought it was the dream holiday that was just out of reach. Tried and failed to go 3 times as an adult and always thought it would never happen. Had a small operation in 2014 and booked impulsively! My only regret is that we can't go every year! Yeah, since the pandemic Virgin have to be pricing themselves out while offering strange deals. No direct flights, no car hire included, not as many resort fee included. The air miles seems pointless now. I saved them like crazy to get 23,000 for a free flight to Florida. Do you think I could get one?! £50odd off a £3k+ holiday! No thanks

@theburgesses2004

Ah thank you. Personally I would buy from Attraction Tickets or Floridatix depending on which one had the best price. At the end of the day you are buying the same product. If Discovery Cove is something you’re interested in then price up with that too as sometimes the price isn’t much different. As for the All day dining packages read the details carefully because the packages are usually valid for 14 days but you can actually only go to each park once.
