Xylocaine is just lidocaine with another name. It’s absolutely common to pour opened vials of xylocaine into sterile bowls on a sterile field. Filling into a sterile syringe while either using sterile gloves or being fully scrubbed into the operative procedure. It is then used; injected into the dermis to numb the area locally. Known as local anesthesia. It’s is in almost every surgical procedure in various concentrations.
@Nature_guurrll
@Nature_guurrll 2 месяца назад
Please everyone- when you are having a surgical procedure, check into your surgeon’s credentials. And even more important, make sure the place you are having surgery is credentialed by a reputable accreditation agency such as the Joint Commission in the USA. You want to put your life in the hands of people who work under the highest standards of care. This case is so tragic. When you go under anesthesia (even local anesthesia as in this case) there is always a possibility that something could go wrong in an instant and you want to know that people are well trained to handle an emergency. Thank you Gisela for raising awareness of this horrible situation. 💖

Mixtures of different local anesthetics are often made by pulling the top off one bottle and diluting it with saline or other things, that doesn't surprise me as long as the mixture is calculated correctly. More concerning is not having someone to administer sedation and specifically monitor the patient is head-shakingly unbelievable. Not having Oxygen, or an EKG, or paying attention to toxic calculated limits of local anesthetics especially when doing more than one procedure at a time is stunning. If anyone ought to have intralipid (treatment for local anesthetic overdose) on-site it should be a plastics office.

Thank you so much for covering this! I live here and am glad to see the story getting the attention it deserves. I’m a nurse and about five or so years ago this doctor built a facility and started flooding the local channel with advertisements. I was immediately repulsed by him because he always adopted a bored and arrogant affectation in those commercials. Because his clinic was new and shiny and due to all of the commercials his clinic became the darling of small town society wannabes. About 18 months ago he started advertising BBLs. Being in healthcare I’m aware that this is one of the most dangerous surgeries you can get due to the high risk of developing a fat embolism. You should always go to a doctor that specializes in this and has lots of experience. He didn’t seem to specialize in anything other than what was trending. I honestly thought that it would end up being swept under the rug because the county is very corrupt. The victim isn’t very sympathetic but her family still deserves to see justice for his negligence and he should never be allowed to so much as empty a bedpan.

I’m confused “victim is not very sympathetic “? What that mean? She’s dead how can she show sympathy to anyone? Sympathic does not mean worthy of sympathy, and who are you to say she’s unworthy of sympathy? She had no proclivities about plastic surgery before?! Clearly her motive wasn’t exactly vanity, I bet he made her feel that if she looked a certain way he would love her again like he did when he first met her and why she was so gung hoe about the procedures. She was good looking before! She wasn’t addicted to surgery she was desperate to make her husband happy and he kept moving the goal posts on her complaining about new issues of her looks everytime she fixed his first complaints! He was trying to tear her down make her feel not good enough to love so she’d keep going to all ends to placate him meanwhile her pandering gave him supply, control and laugh at her nerotic desperation to please him!

I have worked as a surgical technician for a long time and I have never had a surgeon operate on their own family members especially a wife. It may be legal here in Florida but not common practice with any of the doctors I have ever worked with. Very 😔 how he got away with not having a defibrillator or even oxygen is CRAZY. I’ve been an anesthesia provider in the US for 20 years. There are many many offices in this country where there are no qualified providers that are emergency trained, and along with that these offices do not have any regulations so they do not have emergency equipment. I’m sure this doctor realized what he did. A local anesthesia overdose rarely happens by a quality provider, but there is an antidote for these overdoses. The take away is never have a procedure in an office that is not accredited. If the place where you’re having your procedure done has no accreditation run the other way.

It's the same in veterinary medicine too!! 💔🐾💔 Many vets and vet Tech's are not trained in life saving measures. I worked for a vet clinic where the veterinarian told a woman that her pug needed to have one of his eyes removed. The pug coded and no one, not even the veterinarian, knew how to use or turn on the defibrillator. Her pug died on the table and the vet told the owner it was from unexplained complications. If her dog had received life saving measures, he would have lived. The veterinarian had recently done the same surgery on a bulldog, this was the first time he had ever done this surgery, and had the medical book splayed open on the dogs stomach for reference as he preformed the surgery. After this, numerous people were told that their dog's needed to have their eye(s) removed -- mostly with no reason. It's grotesque what atrocities are committed in the medical field at the hands of the greedy.

This is all beyond horrible. And the story about the unwanted and unexpected brazilian butt lift is just so shocking. If you don’t already know, a BBL (brazilian butt lift) is known for being THE MOST deadly cosmetic procedure you can have done. This procedure consists of having fat liposuctioned out of certain areas of your body (like stomach, back, thighs) and then re-injected into your buttocks. It’s such a big procedure to have done and you’re gonna need to take time off work, have someone to help you in the first however many days etc etc. Basically just this isn’t like a brow lift thing, it’s serious surgery, dangerous high-risk surgery at that. At least in Canada, if the nurse follows a doctor's order that is wrong and harmful to the patient, and she is expected to know that it is wrong and could cause harm. She would be held more accountable than the doctor. You are expected to understand every drug you give, and its appropriate dosage. And the drug is pronounced VER - sed. The pre op cocktail is really unusual too. I don't blame her, but perhaps both of them were impaired by medication. Or maybe she simply had no knowledge to understand how inappropriate what she was being allowed to do - asking along with the doctor for more medication, preparing IV bags etc - was.

I have always wanted to get a couple of procedures done for different things but cases like this make me thankful that I can’t afford it!!! This poor woman! It seems very deliberate to me. I would like to know if there’s a life insurance policy for her. But he’s a doctor!! He shouldn’t need any money right?? Listening to his “advertisment” sounded more like he was reading some cue cards or something. Also, the fact that his practice was so lax makes me wonder if he learned this from an example that was set for him by his father. This makes me wonder how many doctors offices are as laid back as Dr. Brown’s. Not just plastic surgeons offices. It’s almost impossible to know. Kinda scary if you ask me. Prayers for her babies and her parents and other family. This was probably very preventable. It usually is! 🙄😢🫣 Thank you Gisela! As always, you are saving lives one case/video at a time!! Keep up the great work!! Stay awesome!! Y’all be good and take care!! 🫶🏼✌🏼Peace!!✌🏼🫶🏼

Why would he planned to kill his wife during a procedure he was preforming? He would suffer consequences anyways. The stories of his patients and the history of malpractice makes a strong case for another malpractice tragedy. He is guilty of her death regardless. Even if was indeed malpractice, to constantly put people in danger like that you need to have no regards for human life and probably a God complex.

Brought to mind for me the case of Bruce Pancake MD in Chattanooga TN. Plastic surgeon who was under investigation, being sued for botched surgeries by 30+ patients, etc. He didn't have any patients who died under his care but he self-terminated at his office when all this came to light. you can find the lawsuit online, but I'm not sure how it was settled.

versed is midazolam. It's used before or during surgery and nothing to fool around with. I don't think there's any conjecture this was intentional, but it's been used in many murders. (It's pronounced Ver-sad, at least in my region) I didn't know that it could be administered without an anesthesiologist present, but maybe Florida is different. AEDs have dropped in price dramatically. I can't understand why there wasn't one present The new ones can be operated by anyone - they speak instructions to you à you use it

Did you previously cover the sad death of Karissa Rajpaul? I’m wondering if that is a guide as to what we might expect in this case. In that instance the guilty parties were a mother and daughter running an unregulated clinic out of their home. Given their actions and the extent of their culpability the sentences handed down were woefully inadequate. Somewhat similar to here, there was both medical malpractice and decisions which directly contributed to treatment being unsuccessful. The entire sector needs to be better regulated and sentencing providing more of a deterrent.

Yikes! She took Gabapentin pre-op? That’s an epilepsy medication - I take it for neuropathic pain which it is also used for. One of my cats finds vet visits traumatic so I have to give him 100mg to keep him calm. This whole thing is bizarre and stinks? Is it just the photos or had she had surgery to change her eye colour? Her dad was right- she looked completely different . Ben is a quick mover- married to wife 1 in 2015 , 2kids and by 2021 he’s met and married wife 2. Hope justice is served.

Lidocaine (Xylocaine), also known by the brand name Xylocaine MPF, is a local or regional anesthetic. It's given as an injection by a healthcare provider to numb a specific area of the body before certain procedures. It can be given by different routes, including through the veins (IV) or into the skin.

I was a pharmacy tech and worked in the O.R. to make sure they had the meds they needed for a specific procedure. I don't know anyone who would stand by & watch that happen. He broke sterile procedure, didn't check inventory to see he had enough lidocaine. Plus played fast and loose with controlled medication. He may be addicted to some of those drugs. It's too easy when drugs are kept in his office unlocked.

I have heard of so many BBLs going wrong or having devastating complications after. People like to say that they go wrong in countries outside of the US or they have complications after they come back from surgery elsewhere. No. I’m talking about procedures carried out in the US with complications from doctors doing the procedures in the US. Again, no shame in cosmetic procedures, but please, use well-trained physicians that have strict standards for their procedures for your own health and safety.
