just proves the point that insurance "companies" only want to take your money, but never provide you with the service you supposedly procured, and yah, yet another example of why HOA"s also need to be outlawed. No such thing as an honest insurance company, or HOA. They will gladly take money, but again never dish it out when it's time to pay up
Florida is also rampant with insurance fraud that's taken a huge toll on insurance companies which of course effects homeowners. Like they say...bad people ruin it for everyone.
I dont see how the HOA or property managment company is not responsible for sprinkler hosing down the wall day in and day out. Homeowners insurance covers accidental damage, That is not accidental damage.
@@finalchapter24k HOA should be responsible because they are also responsible for the sprinklers & how they should be properly functional. In which this case, the sprinkler was not functioning properly. But, I would say that this whole Condo was built on a house of cards & therefore, the whole condo, not just this women's condo, but the whole unit has mold. Mold doesn't just stop at one apartment. My guess is, that whole unit, if they inspected all of those apartments, are also mold infested. It only takes one faulty leak to set off a firestorm of mold that can't be put out once it has taken off. More than LIKELY, this whole unit should be condemned!! I am a Native Floridian of 57 yrs. I am quite familiar with how mold starts & how if not caught right way, will spread throughout the whole house & it becomes unlivable.
"Water was hitting her wall & window ALL night long" from the sprinkler head? How long did this go on? Why on earth would you wait to put a cone over it? Just get up, then walk outside and put a bucket over that sprinkler head or tie off a rag and berate the HOA/ grounds manager in the morning. Even condo ownership requires a minimum level of accountability, especially in Florida, it is not always best to be a passive spectator. Be a stand up gal your cat will thank you.
Some insurance companies are horrible but Florida has the highest amount of fraudulent claims in the US. Those fraudulent claims is what's destroying it for the honest claims.
All the best to this woman. Seems like the property management company should be responsible for placing thant sprinkler in a position to shower her walls with water. That's actually bad for the foundation of the building too.
Seriously, how does anyone trust they won't be sold out, ignored, decimated by company's & government??? Why is it always the companies that get bailed out & not the people?????
Because the companies can donate plenty of money to the Capitol Hill Gang members bank accounts and election campaigns......we the people can't... or won't.
They are gonna drop everyone right before Hurricane season.. classic move. They are all gonna lose their homes. No more poor people in Florida!!! Bye! Hope you like alabamba
Might as well not even have insurance. Instead put money you would be paying insurance to the side and when the time comes, you actually have money to pay for it instead of dealing with this bullshit. Poor lady.
@@economicstreetbuzz the only thing you’d have to worry about is fire or flood. Whether or not it was an accident or caused by nature. That would suck but insurance companies will try to find a way to not pay anyways
These companies make A LOT of money then cash out and quit. This should not be allowed! No liquidity? This is not acceptable. Lawmakers must hold these companies liable!
I guess deregulating big industries isn't such a good thing after all. Look at TX power grid as an example. Vote your politicians out of office. Maybe the insurance companies should return all premiums paid by these homeowners.
Good luck ! Florida has the worst Consumer Protection Laws in the USA! People hate rules and regulations in Southern states! Glad I live in a SANE state MARYLAND!!!!!!!
Maryland will bleed you dry especially if you are a senior citizen and don't get me started on taxes. It's great if you want hand-outs, that's for sure and it does have excellent Consumer Protection Laws but... there's more to living somewhere than just that. Former Marylander here.
Why didn't this video list the Florida Insurance companies, which are currently in receivership? I no longer have a house in Fla., but do have one in N.Y. which is insured by a Fla. Ins. Co. Please list them, in a later video, as my homeowners insurance policy is due soon!
@@naudianeels1328 Someone reported on another Florida insurance issue that they live in Tn and only pay $45 per month for homeowners insurance. It's all about location location location. I love the country so that's where I am and will die
In receivership they're ignoring our claims but yet they still take our money am I crazy or does this smell like a criminal action against us the people.
Insurance co going broke - contractors are knocking on doors suggesting a claim on shingles - easy fix - rewrite insurance in Florida to cover all but the roof shingles - homeowners need insur
The CEO on citizens makes a lot of m money- the property company should pay for this- hire an attorney. Our development in Boynton many who had lived here for over 30 years says they've never were hit with no damage. So citizens needs to do something
That’s exactly what NOT to do! Black mold is a hazmat situation that must be professionally treated. And impacted surfaces go far beyond obvious wood rot. Just ripping out what appears to be damaged will send all those toxic spores airborne, and not even begin to address everywhere else it’s growing. And what you see is only the tip of the iceberg. It’s NOT simply a matter of cosmetics. Once a property has black mold, if it’s allowed to spread, it, along with its shared wall neighbors, are doomed.
There's a ton of insurance fraud in FL, especially roofing scams. Also the lack of consumer protections and insurance regulations in the state doesn't help.
Well you should ask Florida republicans they have being ruling the state for such a long time they should know? I mean floridians keep electing them more and more like there is no tomorrow.
@@jersonmoran8472 I'm not getting into a feud, but Florida is one of the best run states in the union. DeSantis stood up Biden on covid, he stood up to Disney and has done some great things for your state. HOWEVER, IDK who's responsible for this insurance mess, because I don't know a lot about it. But if it is the Republicans that are responsible, they should be held accountable. BTW, do you democrats plan on holding your party accountable for the "incredibly, unbelievable" mess they just put the entire country in?? I'll wait.
Why can’t these large living areas self insure and access a monthly stipend off all residents? It would probably be cheaper. 20k to remove and replace some drywall? Oh yea spray some chlorine around too.
Thanks to the current FL Governor and legislature for letting it get to this point. Too busy passing laws to prevent freedom of speech or punish companies for it. Something should have been done years ago.
Mold in the shower?? You've got to be kidding me these people don't even understand mold and mildew. Of course you're going to have mildew in your shower if you don't clean it regularly. Unbelievable.
The only way to have mold in a shower is (1there's external water or humidity seeping into the bathroom or (2)the water absorption rate of the bath tile is too high. Because bathrooms are usually internal structures, they get dry pretty quickly.
No government allowed landlords. I have my lands and I want to be a test site for bomb and missiles. I have few customers from China or russia or Iran's and many other nations wants to test their missile or bombs in my lands, but the government says no. Why? It's a business and I needs to turn my lands into business. I am like many landlords just want to make money. Slave auction and plantation are businesses too. We need new nation Islamic Emirate states of America with sharia laws.
I can't imagine the fear losing home insurance for these people. The black mold issue should be covered by the HOA as the sprinklers were not functioning properly and cause the moisture issue. This woman was aware of the water hitting her condo why didn't she speak up earlier? Sprinklers are easy to adjust.
The government has always sucked. no matter what.... They were told years ago to stop letting foreign buyers and llcs to buy up land because it would housing unaffordable and cause skyrocket rents. This were also told to clearfuly define luxury and update it so pos like surfside couldnt charge million for ticking time bomb and should never have been built
