Just today, I discovered your channel and it's filled with some many great ideas to travel within Florida. Thank you so much for your effort to provide so much great info.
If you fly Allegiant Airlines, you will see a lot of advertisement for the Sunseeker because it is the first resort built by the discount airline. We love Allegiant and take them whenever we get the chance. I actually have a flight from our farm in the St. Louis area to Punta Gorda later today, and it's only an hour from my home in St. James City. Like any discount airline, they occasionally have hiccups, but I have been more pleased than upset with their services. Thanks for the tour. My friends in Punta Gorda like to go to the Sunseeker & hang out. I will have to check it out soon.
We love Allegiant too, Heather! We've probably flown with them over 20 times to the midwest (where we are originally from) and back. We've had great experience with them overall, and have only been delayed a couple of times. And flying out of Punta Gorda is the best. It's such a small airport and so easy to park and get to your gate.
Yes, brand new and it looks every bit of it. We just wish we would have had a solid day to just chill in those pools, but a week would have been even better!
The beauty of this property was so beyond our expectations. Food and drinks were good too, but the main reason we'd return here would be to just relax at the pool all day!
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to “live through your Florida adventures”. Sadly, I couldn’t be in our Sarasota condo this year and be snowbirds due to health reasons. I’ve seen so many places to explore, enjoy views & empty beaches and places to get good food & drinks that won’t empty my bank account. You both helped my stay positive while enduring a sad, cold and rainy winter on an Islam Off Massachusetts. Should we run into you, the drinks are on me!!!🥰
We're sorry to hear you weren't able to visit your condo this year, Pam. But it also makes us happy to know that you were still able to experience a little bit of Florida through our channel. We hope you cold rainy winter is coming to an end, and that hopefully we'll run into each other some day. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and for supporting our channel!
Yes we felt very fortunate to be able to visit this new and beautiful of a property. It was probably the most visually appealing resort we've ever visited, and we've been to a few of them!
Looks like an awesome place to stay! May have to take the family in the future. Thanks so much for sharing! I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the awesome work and have a blessed week!
I'm sure the family would love it, and we hope you all get a chance to visit someday. Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging comments as always!
Wow! What an incredible property! The pools looks amazing! I especially like the infinity pool views at sunset. Looks heavenly! I was just about to say where's the beach, but you beat me to it! 😁
Thank you so much. We were lucky to have some beautiful sunny days to film, so fortunately we were able to accurately capture the beauty of this property. It was a hard one to leave!
Wow that's a beautiful resort! I would love to stay there. We are thinking about our November/December trip and this could work perfectly. The beer hall and the rooftop pool are of interest to me especially. Great overview.
It's honestly the prettiest resort we've ever been too. Everything is so new and perfect. I feel like we need to book a trip to a brand new resort in the Dominican or Mexico now for comparison 😂. Be sure to let us know if you do make it down this way later in the year. November/December is a great time to visit.
Mind blown! What a gorgeous property. I would like a room with a balcony though. I love bourbon so I'm going to have try to recreate that cocktail that Skylar had!
We've yet to really explore the city of Port Charlotte, but we've heard a lot of good things about it. This resort is definitely a great addition to the city. Lots of jobs and a great place for locals to go for drinks and dining or just to enjoy a walk along the harbor.
Another amazing job by you guys. The Sunseeker is down the road from us. Looking forward to visit it, once the busy season is over. I agree what they lack in beach access, they make up in those beautiful pools. One question? How is parking availability and is it free? Thank you and have a great weekend.
Thanks so much, Francisco! It was kind of a last trip, but we are so glad that we got the chance to visit, as it vastly exceeded our expectations! Parking is in a covered garage. It is not free... I believe it was $3.00 per hour or $15 for the full day. You do have to be staying at the resort to go into the pool, but you can still walk the path around it or dine at one of the poolside restaurants without actually staying there. We hope you two are doing well!
Yeah, I'm sure it's not easy (and definitely not cheap) finding enough beach-front property in Florida to construct this large of a resort. But we do definitely agree that the one thing that would make it even better would be if it were on the beach.
I've been following you two for a few years, always great content. I was surprised to see you down here in our hometown. This was a great review as always. My only comment for others is the closest actual beach for Sunseekers is Englewood (Manasota Key) but people should be aware it's a 45-minute drive from the resort in heavy traffic. The water in Charlotte Harbor is brackish, a combination of freshwater from the Peace River and the Gulf. The bottom of the harbor is muddy and doesn't smell so good, not too good for swimming. There's Port Charlotte Beach about (5) minutes from the resort but the "sand" is imported and again the bottom is pretty bad. Keep up the good work! :-)
Thanks so much for supporting our channel for the last two years. We really appreciate it. And thank you for taking the time to share the information about the closest beach. We knew that it would be a bit of a drive to get to Manasota, but didn't realize it could take that long! I guess we're extra fortunate here in St. Pete to only have a 20 minute drive to the beach in bad traffic!
@@Explorcation I enjoy all your videos, especially the ones showing the springs. I have friends who just moved from PA to Weeki Wachee and we plan on checking out some of the ones you have featured. Keep up the great work.
@@MrChris6143 thanks for the feedback, while a lot of people are drawn to Florida for the beaches, the springs sure are great to visit too. We hope you enjoy the Weeki Wachee area when you visit your friends!
Thanks so much for watching and popping in to say hi! You were such a good server and helped make our dinner experience so enjoyable. Hopefully we'll run into you again someday!
I totally just booked this hotel for my birthday in May after watching your video ! 🎉🎉🎉 A Harbor view room and can't wait !!! Thanks for your amazing tour of the hotel, restaurants and of course , the bars !!! And the sunsets 🌅🌅🌅🌅🌅🌅🌅🌅🌅🌅
We're so happy that our video helped you decide how you wanted to celebrate your upcoming birthday! We hope you love it as much as we did... it really is a stunning property. Heads up, they charge to use the pools on the rooftop. We both decided that if we were to come back, we'd pay for it one day and spend pretty much the entire day up there (between the pool, giant hottub, bar, and views, you'd never really need to leave). It might be a nice way to spend your birthday!
Wow this looks awesome!! You guys were such a help to me and my family when we vacationed in Clearwater and Siesta Key. Great video. Can you swim in that harbor?
Thank you so much! We're so glad to hear our channel helped you make the most out of your Clearwater and Siesta Key vacations. As far as swimming in the water... we don't recall seeing any signs that say you can't, but it's definitely not something we saw anyone doing. We're guessing it's not encouraged.
The thing I did notice was (West facing) the walkway by the river is going to be dreadful in the summer heat. Perhaps they need to add sail cloths over the walkway. Only Fl ppl would catch this flaw. LOL
Yeah, we do agree that the heat could get pretty bad along the promenade in the summer. It wasn't much of an issue when we visited, but we do hope they have plans to add some extra shade!
What y'all talking about? That's Charlotte Harbor not punta gorda. Port Charlotte is different then punta Gorda. I miss how my county used to be more fun and peaceful now every since sunseekers open we had more drama and life death situations for the residents of the county not guests like y'all. I wished they actually did partnership with Yelawolf for now it all total b.s with nothing good for the residents and environment!!!! Y'all suck! Sincerely long term resident who hate this fugly hotel that scared off my dolphins and killed off my fishy's for fishing. Thanks for supporting homeless tweakers! -_-
Wow! What an incredible resort! You could easily stay there a month! So many great restaurants and bars....and that pool! Wow! We prefer to be closer to a beach but i would definitely consider staying here. Great video!
Yeah, it would take a long time to get bored at that place... it's not very often that I (Skylar) would be content hanging out at the pool all day, but at this place I think I could manage 😂
Some people don't like leaving the country (or legally can't LOL). Others may have jobs or other obligations where they can't be away for more than a few days at a time. But for a trip of more than a few days, an all-inclusive in Mexico or the Dominican is definitely more economical.
Our pleasure, Kathy. We really enjoyed filming this one because the property is so beautiful We really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.
Good to see reviews coming. I work for Allegiant and did attend dinner before opening. Not many complaints there. When business picks up though I wanna see how they hold up and see a review that is more like a real guest experience that isn't all promotion
We love flying Allegiant (have been doing so for over 10 years) and the Sunseeker was kind enough to host us, so we were excited to show the property in the best light possible. Thankfully, doing so was extremely easy as the resort is absolutely pristine. The one complaint we (and most other people it seems) would have is that there is no beach, but people have to realize that if this was on the beach the price would be twice as high. Next time we return, it will not be to vlog, but rather just to relax at the pools, which in our opinion are the highlight of the property.
That's awesome! I think the molcajete was $40 something, but don't remember the exact amount. I do recall thinking it was fairly reasonably priced considering everything it came with and that it fed two people!
I always get excited whenever I see a new upload. I'd like to know if Skylar is a bloody mary fan and IF he is, where does he find the best one? Side note, (for me) I'm talking about the TASTE of the drink. NOT the ones where they bring you a kitchen sink in a glass.
That's so awesome to hear that you are excited to watch our videos! Oh yeah DEFINITELY a bloody mary fan, although I try to limit my morning drinking these days so don't get them too often. That said, I think the best bloody mary I've ever had was at Tiki Bar behind the Low Key hideaway in Cedar Key. More locally I had a really good one at Sloppy Joe's in Treasure Island. Dang it, now I'm craving one 😂
You two do a REALLY good job on the editing, which I assume most people, myself included, have no idea the amount of work involved. Thanks for the reply. I will try your suggestions.
@@samo8204 thank you so much for your kind comment, you are right, it is a lot of work but it is worth it in the end! Let us know if you come across any excellent bloody mary's in the future!
Lol. I started to do the exact same thing the hotel did. They misspelled SKYLAR. I think it's really neat that they give you a personal welcoming but I also feel if you're going to do that, you better check the spelling first.
We agree, Kathy! But yes, no beach access, as this resort is located on Charlotte Harbor and not the gulf. That said if you're a pool person, this resort is gonna be very hard to beat.
That's the whole point... you're supposed to click on the video to find out 😂 We hope you watched it and enjoyed it! But in case you didn't, we were at the Sunseeker.
Wow great new resort. Looked it up, pricey depending on dates. How were food prices? At food hall? No prices online. Hope you both are good. Keep in touch. Hope to see you both on our channel too.
It was a really enjoyable place to visit. Food prices were pretty decent for a property this nice. We thought the food and drinks at the rooftop bar were especially reasonable considering the beautiful setting. But yes, definitely quite pricey at times, but when you experience this place in person, you definitely understand why. Thanks so much for dropping by to say hi! We hope you guys are doing well too!
It really does look amazing. It's still quite new and the word is still getting out, which is probably part of why it wasn't super busy. But yes, definitely not a budget hotel.
They have this delusion that a private golf course reserved for guests only will be sustainable. It will never work in this area. The private golf course concept hasn't worked here in the past. The resort was built on "brackish water" its brown and it's on the harbor It's a beautiful place and it's way over priced and they don't have a beach. I believe they speculated that golfers were going to beat a path to their door to play this golf course that doesn't have a name behind it. Open it to the public and start generating some revenue. The maintenance on that place has to be astronomical. Let us common folk enjoy your precious golf course. Allegiant should have also purchased port charlotte golf club and made that the public course
Living in Punta Gorda, I'm not sure I'll actually stay there. But it is our new go to spot for food/drinks, along with fisherman's village which i recommend if you ever get a chance to explore Punta Gorda.
We're glad to hear you are liking it! We thought it was a really cool concept how the locals could access the majority of the resort, but hotel guests still had a few spots that were just for them. Next time we're in Punta Gorda we will definitely check out Fisherman's Village. We appreciate the recommendation!
