Damn, Steve. That looks a bit like fiberglass splinters. Great catches. I've steamed them in the past and most recently I split the tails and cook them on a charcoal grill with butter, salt & pepper...and butter. When were in Maine years ago, I learned that if lobsters are steamed slowly they tend to be more tender..? A secret released by the lady that kept winning the lobster roll contests every year. Yeah it looks like fiberglass but it came off of an animal some sort of creature that was living on that old rope that had been floating out there! It honestly hurt for two solid days it was pretty crazy. Thank you for the tip I will keep that in mind if she's winning those kind of competitions she knows what she's doing 💪. We like them on the grill as well it adds that unique flavor of charcoal 😋 or a gas grill!
Nothing amps me up more than grabbing bugs… nothing. Honestly Steve…. I have eaten lobster most ways you can prepare them for a half century ( yup I am a geezer) but my favorite is on the BBQ, tail separated and split, soaked with butter. Part of this choice is the memories of campfires all over the Keys, Caribbean and Central America… and South America… some pleasure trips, some dinners after a long work day under the H2O. A little fresh lime or lemon, sitting with dear friends or family and buddies and workmates. Tequila and fishing lies didn’t hurt either. Thanks for rekindling the good times brother.

I haven't gone out at night in years! We would snorkel at night on the east coast all the time in the late 80s and the was so fun! The ocean comes alive at night!

Yes I do remember his name was Lloyd, I moved away from that area over two years. I'm not sure if Lloyd is still alive I know he was suffering from cancer of the prostate real bad and was refusing treatment 😞
